This power-point presents the results of the Patient Centered Outcomes and Valuation study, a survey that was conducted under Dr. Benjamin Craig. I was a part of the team which conducted this survey, and helped deliver the survey to nearly 250 cancer patients. The power-point also contains the results of a comprehensive literature search that I conducted which compiled all existing research studies conducted on the preferences of cancer patients regarding different health outcomes.

by knowing which attributes of health are most
important to the majority of people
• Reliable methods of understanding individual patient
preferences do exist
• Disconnect between the valuations of patients and the
expectations of their clinicians or family members can
be resolved through popularization of preference
elicitation tools
