HCL-BODC has a team on various projects from Development, Testing and Automation to
deliver high quality routing and switching software for high-end customer like lime light,
AT&T, Verizon, AMSIX etc
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Functional, Performance, Scaling and System testing of Multiple
features on various releases
 Functional Testing of Brocade OS software, which includes testing the various protocols
like Routing and Switching protocols viz., RIP, OSPF, BGP , STP and RSTP etc.
 Scaling Testing on Brocade products to ensure the scaling number provided by
development is achieved
 Performance Testing on Brocade products by using IXIA and STC to check the
Throughput and Frame loss of the devices with different Frame sizes at line rate.
 System testing of Brocade OS software, which includes testing the functionality of
various MPLS, Multicast, routing and switching protocols
 Sustaining Testing on reference topology for maintenance patches, CFD replication and
verification on L2/L3 protocols.
 Identify potential issues from testing, perform manual debugging steps and raise
defects through Team Track system.
 Coordinate with Development Test and Core Development teams to reproduce the
defects, get it resolved and verify the bug fix.
 Drive activities that pave way towards implementing technical expertise in the project
that involve building ideas on optimization
 Involve in technical activities that aim at productivity improvement and run time
reduction activities.

Automated Test Centre (ATC)

Product: CISCO Routers 2600, 3640, 3745, 7200, RSP & 7600 IOS validation
Environment: UNIX & TCL
Regression Project on CISCO 7200/7500, 7600 and 3800 series routers and 122S, 124-M/T
IOS for service provider networks. Regression testing of Cisco IOS image functionality
features which includes most Routing protocols and IP technology on weekly basis. Testing is
carried out in platforms like Cisco RSP, 3800 and 7200 series.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Regression testing of OSPF features on various releases
 Functionality/Regression testing of Cisco IOS software, which includes testing the
functionality of various routing and switching protocols viz., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP,
ISIS etc.
 Perform IOS software testing on multiple Cisco router platforms including 7200, 7500,
7600 series and other lower end platforms under UNIX/LINUX platform
 Identify potential issues from testing, perform manual/automation debugging steps
and raise defects through DDTS system.
 Coordinate with Development Test and Core Development teams to reproduce the
defects, get it resolved and verify the bug fix.
 Drive activities that pave way towards implementing technical expertise in the project
that involve building ideas on optimization, tool development activities.
 Involve in technical and BOW activities that aim at productivity improvement and run
time reduction activities.
2. Team Activities tracking
 Leading the team of 5 engineers, tracking the metrics, reports, and schedules as
necessary and participated in the design walkthroughs and meeting.
 Involved in data collection and presentation of Quarterly Progress Review to the
CLIENT
 Mentoring and tracking the work of the team member’s team to accomplish project
goals in stipulated time.
 Motivating the team members, planning the resources and test bed shuffling between
the Engineers to meet the project requirements and ensuring 100% perfect reports
are getting delivered to the Customers
3. Manual Testing
 Performing manual test by executing the test cases with some fine tuned test plans
and reporting the bugs.
 Performing Stress test and Negative test which are not covered as part of the test
plan.
