Anime Club - Day 1 Presentation
1. The Anime Club At Chestatee High School As you all walk in, please fill in the information on the sign-in sheet and take a seat. Club Fees - $15 (Mostly for T-shirts)

3. Rules Obviously, all the standard school rules apply. Raise your hand if you would like to speak – do not speak until you have been called upon. Be respectful to others and of other Animes. Do not interrupt. Pay attention to the speaker. No destroying the classroom and put everything back where you found it. Be nice to this room, it’s the only one we have. NO. TEXTING.

Weeaboo - Any self-proclaiming anime fan who alienates themselves from their own society and assimilate into the Japanese culture from which they know little-to-none about; using their so-called anime knowledge as a guide, which destined them to ultimate failure in assimilation. As far as anime goes, they know only little. For example, the average weeaboo knows only Americanized anime; preferably uncut with jap. audio and Eng. subs ( E.g. Naruto, DBZ, Bleach, HaruhiSuziyama, Lucky Star, etc...) and memorized every japanese song from their favorite shows. Otaku – Literally means fanatic. Otaku are obsessed Japanese anime and manga fans. (While it has negative connotations in Japan to be called otaku, in America and the international anime community this term is more flexible.) Manga – Japanese comics Mangaka – A creator of Japanese comics Shōjo - Manga marketed to a female audience roughly between the ages of 10 and 18 Shōnen – Same as Shōjo except for Male audiences Mecha – Animes based around mechanical things, like robots. Steampunk – Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is still widely used—usually the Victorian era Britain—that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy Doujinshi – Self-published works Scanlation – The scanning and translating of comics into a foreign language Manga Vocab

Anime – Japanese animated cartoons Raw – Original anime in its original language Subs – short for subtitled Dubs – short for dubbed, meaning, voiced-over in a different language than the original AMV – Anime Music Video OP – Short for an anime’s opening sequence OST – Short for Original Sound Track Seiyuu – Voice actor CMV – CosplayMusic Video Anime vocab
11. Roleplaying – To act like a character, basically. This can be portrayed through text, speech, or even actions. Cosplaying – It’s dressing up as a character and acting like them, generally done at cons Cons – Conventions. Can be for Anime, video games, comics, etc. Comic Con is one of America’s most well known. More Anime vocab
