Founded in 2001, Oceana is one of the largest organizations dedicated entirely to ocean conservation. Oceana’s scientists work in collaboration with lawyers and advocates to assist with protecting and restoring the world’s oceans. Since its inception, Oceana has helped to protect more than a million square miles of ocean. Wavemakers, who comprise the more than 600,000 Oceana members that support this endeavor, include Martha Jacobson, PhD, a tenured professional with several decades of experience in psychology. Martha Jacobson, PhD, worked for 22 years as the clinical director of a private practice in Hollywood, Florida, where she provided expert evaluation and testimony for state and federal court cases.
