Today, to commemorate the international date, we have been working in class. We
did two groups to check the illustration, the risks and the safety measures. HERE WE
ARE WITH THE FINAL RESULTS.

3. NUMBER 1:
RISK: The transporting belt is not protected.
MEASURE: it should be covered by a case or a framework.
NUMBER 2:
RISK: The load that the man is transporting is too heavy and doesn’t let him see
properly.
MEASURE: He should use a wheelbarrow.
NUMBER 3:
RISK: The door is opened.
MEASURE: it should be closed.
RISK: The light is on.
MEASURE: it should be cut off.
RISK: The man is using boxes to work in height.
MEASURE: he should use a ladder.
RISK: The electric cables are exposed.
MEASURE: they should be set in proper tubes.
NUMBER 4:
RISK: The cable is broken and it shouldn’t be repaired.
MEASURE: A new cable should be used.
MEASURE: The load should be moved using two cables instead of one.
RISK: The carabiner hasn’t got the security fastener.
NUMBER 5:
RISK: The worker is welding under a dangerous load and in an inadequate position; he
is too close to materials that can be burnt; he is not using gloves.
NUMBER 6:
RISK: The ladder has a broken step and it has also been mended.
RISK: The ladder has not been set in the best place to do the task.
4. RISK: The worker should be closer to the tins.
RISK: The load has not been suitably packaged.
MEASURE: The ladder should wear a shim.
NUMBER 7:
RISK: Some floorboards have been left on the floor and someone can step on them
and get hurt.
MEASURE: They should be removed.
NUMBER 8
RISK: There is a big hole, a cavity, on the floor and someone could fall down.
MEASURE: There should be a handrail around the hole to prevent a fall.
NUMBER 9:
RISK: The load is too heavy and it hasn’t been set correctly.
RISK: The driver hasn’t got visibility.
RISK: The forklift hasn’t got an adequate roof.
MEASURE: The forklift should be electric instead of using fuel.
MEASURE: The forklift should have a siren and a warming light.
MEASURE: The driver shouldn’t wear a hat but a helmet.
NUMBER 10
RISK: The worker is loading incorrectly.
RISK: The load is too heavy.
MEASURE: The job must be done by two workers at least.
MEASURE: They may also need a wheelbarrow.
NUMBER 11:
RISK: He is working without eye protection.
MEASURE: The machine may need a protection too.
5. NUMBER 12
RISK: oil and petrol shouldn’t be left on the floor.
MEASURE: Oil and petrol should be kept in a storehouse.
RISK: The floor is also dirty with oil so workers can slip and it can provoke an accident.
RISK: There is a container without a label.
NUMBER 13
RISK: A worker is smoking in the workplace. He has just thrown fire in a waste bin.
RISK: The litter is full and dirty.
