THE FATHER’S HOUSE
SOME
PLACES OF
INTIMACY IN
JOHN 14:1-6 (NIV)
 Jesus Comforts His Disciples
 14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You
believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My
Father’s house has many rooms; if that were
not so, would I have told you that I am going
there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come back
and take you to be with me that you also
may be where I am. 4 You know the way to
the place where I am going.”
JOHN 14:6 (NKJV)
 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through Me.”
 Jesus went to prepare rooms, dwelling
places for us. This rooms can be visited now
on this time, you can experience the knowing
of the different rooms in the Father’s house.
BECOMING A FRIEND
 Let’s compare our natural dwelling with the
one in heaven.
 Having a quick look to this study, you could
determine where are you standing in the
House of God.
 As in the natural, if you are just visiting a
person that you just had known for the first
time, you won’t pass further than the dining
room, you may ask permission to use the
Bathroom though.
ACQUAINTED WITH
 As you become acquainted with this person,
he will invite you to have dinner, you will be
more relaxed and act in in a more natural
way, you will not feel a complete estranger
any more.
 As your relationship with this person
ascends to the category of friendship you
feel comfortable with this person whom you
know, like, and trust; you will go to the
different rooms with confidence. You will feel
you are welcome and accepted in his house.
PARTNERING WITH
 As you treat more this person, your
relationship could escalate to a partner in
business.
 As you become associated with this person
you have more and more confidence and
you are now able to freely go through the
whole house.
 Your friend at times could even entrust you
with the keys of the hold house and put you
in charge and custody of all his goods.
IN THE SPIRITUAL REALM
 In the spiritual realm, in our relationship
with God the same process happens with
us. At the beginning we just approach to
His living room, them little by little as we
fellowship with Him we start to know
other rooms from His house, and as with
and old good friend we freely go through
all the rooms; we get to know them all and
we may even have a preferred one.
PSALM 65:4 (NKJV)
 4 Blessed is the man You choose,
And cause to approach You,
That he may dwell in Your courts.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness
of Your house, Of Your holy temple.
God invite us to come and stay at home with
him, not jus as a visitor, but to stay with Him as
a son
THE LIVING ROOM
THE LIVING ROOM
● It’s a place where you receive visits, or where
you are received when you go to your
friends.
● Talk and fellowship.
● Let requests be known unto God.
● Where you ask and you receive.
● Here is where you seek and shall find.
THE LIVING ROOM
● In here we:
● Sit Down with the Father.
● Talk to him about the things of the day and
present our requests.
● Here we present all our supplications and
cares.
◆ Sadly many Christians live here
THE LIVING ROOM
● They relationship with God is:
● Talking to God just when they’re in need.
● Trying to see what God has for them.
● Asking and seeking the things they need.
● Some get trap in their own things, they are
just talking about their Kingdom, their
ministries, finances, bills, family,
You cannot live in the living room
● Check your heart: What is that you talk the
most to God when praying?
● Is your prayer focus on you or Him?
● A relationship cannot be centered only on
asking.
● Look for the place of giving your love and
freely receiving it.
THE KITCHEN
THE KITCHEN
● The kitchen is the place where people
are serving, working and preparing
things for God.
● Is the Place of “Doing”.
● The Kitchen is necessary, but if all you
know of the house is the Living room
and the Kitchen, then you are too busy.
● In the Kitchen you are the Elder son.
THE KITCHEN
● Mary was at the feet of Jesus, she was
having intimacy with Jesus by just seating at
His feet and listening to his words. That filled
her heart.
● Martha was busy in the kitchen with serving
and the work she was doing. She lost the
main point of a complete relationship:
Intimacy.
THE KITCHEN
● The kitchen is a great and glorious place of
producing good fruit and doing the Father’s
business.
● But at the same time can be a place where
out of too much serving we lost sight of the
Glory and Intimacy with God.
● If we don’t have equilibrium we can easily be
burnt out.
THE DININGROOM
THE DININGROOM
● Psalm 23:5 (NKJV)
● 5 You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
● Psalm 34:8
● 8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is
good; Blessed is the man who trusts in
Him!
● Psalm 119:103
● 103 How sweet are Your words to my
taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalm 81:16
16 He would have fed them also
with the finest of wheat; And with
honey from the rock I would have
satisfied you.”
THE DININGROOM
● In His Dining Room there are two very
noticeable seats: One is for Jesus, and the
other one is yours.
● You and Him are prominent in all the group of
people.
● In this place we have the Bread of Life,
Living Water and the New Wine; and of
course never misses a pot of Honey.
THE DININGROOM
● Just as you need in the natural to drink and
eat every day, so we have the same needs in
the spiritual realm.
● This is the room of experiences where God
touches us.
● But we cannot live only of experiences
The Bathroom
THE BATHROOM
● Place of repentance and of cleansing, and
cleaning; place of getting rid of some
unwanted stuff.
● EVERY CHRISTIAN needs to visit the
bathroom,
● Some Christians believe that once they are
saved, they don’t need to visit the bathroom.
● 1 John 1:9
● New King James Version (NKJV)
● 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness.
It’s good to go to the cleansing place.
● It is absurd to believe that one doesn’t need
the bathroom, it’s like suddenly you decide
not to relief yourself, and think you are going
to be OK.
● Some Christians live holding everything, they
have spiritual constipation, not realizing they
can visit the bathroom and get rid of
everything.
THE BATHROOM
● There are others that live in the bathroom,
they are living in shame, guilt and
condemnation, they don’t dare to come out of
the bathroom.
● They go the bathroom but still feel dirty. They
feel shame because they feel they haven’t
been forgiven, and repeat the process again
and again.
THE BASEMENT
● There are Christians who
live in the basement, it’s
their secret place.
● A basement is not in the
open, there is no fresh air
and there are no
windows
THE BASEMENT
● The basement is dark, humid and dingy.
● It’s messy, a place where you leave
everything hung out.
● A place where you throw all your junk
and don’t bring your friends into.
THE BASEMENT
● Look for those friends
that will help you to
clean up.
● Don’t think that if you
don’t go to the
basement things would
go away by themselves
THE BASEMENT
● It is the place of
intercession, warfare,
birthing and calling forth
things.
● The things that happen
out in the open, happen
in the basement first.
● What happens down in
the basement is the
foundation of what God
does.
THE BASEMENT
● When your basement is
clean, then you can
have an extra room
where to enjoy a time of
meditation, reflection
and spend some private
time reading and
studying the word of
God, this place
becomes your prayer
closet.
THE BASEMENT
● As in the natural a home cannot stand
without a basement or foundation,
● No work of God can stand without a
foundation of prayer.
THE BASEMENT
● 2 Timothy 2:19
● New King James Version (NKJV)
● 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God
stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows
those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who
names the name of Christ depart from
iniquity.”
THE BEDROOM
THE BEDROOM
● Is the place of intimacy with Jesus.
● In here He touches you and He kisses you
with the kisses of His mouth.
● In this place you feel like in a honeymoon
with your King.
● In here is like living the Song of Solomon
with Jesus.
THE BEDROOM
● The sad thing about the bedroom is that
some Christians fell terribly uncomfortable
and don’t know how to be a lover and friend
of God, and so they won’t stay long in this
place of intimacy.
● In the Bedroom you are secure in God’s love
and you know His acceptance.
● All ministry needs to flow out of this room.
THE BEDROOM
● It is so good to start in the bedroom, here
you will receive great revelation , but if you
don’t persist on intimacy, you will end up in
the Kitchen and get stuck in there.
● People start to notice that you have been
with Jesus and have received something
fresh from God.
THE BEDROOM
● Acts 4:13 (NKJV)
● 13 Now when they saw the boldness of
Peter and John, and perceived that they
were uneducated and untrained men, they
marveled. And they realized that they had
been with Jesus.
THE REC ROOM
THE REC ROOM
● This is the place of fun, praise, celebration
and joyous dancing.
● This is the place to worship The King.
● In here the river of God is flowing.
● Break troughs come when worshiping.
● Worship, life, and joy fills the Rec Room.
THE STUDY ROOM
 A room full of bookshelves packed with
Greek and Hebrew Bibles, Dictionaries,
Books of concordances, and maps.
 All the materials for the searching of the
scriptures are here.
 Tables and desk complement the room.
 This is the place of digging out golden
nuggets of truth and the treasures of God’s
Word.
2 TIMOTHY 2:15 (NKJV)
 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved
to God, a worker who does not need to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of
truth.
 Here you get to know and discern the Word
of God.
JOSHUA 1:8 (NKJV)
 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from
your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day
and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written in it. For then
you will make your way prosperous, and then
you will have good success.
The Storage Room
 Inside of this room there is a large open
treasure chest overflowing with diamonds,
rubies, gold and silver coins, all kind of
treasures.
 This is the Room of revelation. This is the
room from where Jesus said to Peter: “Flesh
and blood have not revealed this unto
you, but my Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 16:17
Overflowing Treasure Chest
MATTHEW 13:44 (NKJV)
 The Parable of the Hidden Treasure
 44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like
treasure hidden in a field, which a man
found and hid; and for joy over it he goes
and sells all that he has and buys that
field.
All revelation and understanding comes out of
the presence of God
PSALM 73:17 (NKJV)
 17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God;
Then I understood their end.
 It is in the Sanctuary that we see and
receive God’s perspective and heart.
 I invite you to have a look at your relationship
with God, where are you standing in the
House of God?
 Are you a prodigal? Are you in the front
yard or the backyard? God is coming to meet
you, to welcome you, to embrace you
cleanse you, put a mantle upon you and
invite you to enter, seat at His table, rest in
His Chamber and stay at home.
 Are you an Elder Brother?
 Do you feel like somebody else is stealing
the love of the Father?
 Have you come to realize that everything that
He has is yours?
 Have you been feeling like an estranger in
your Fathers House?
 He is calling you to embrace you. to make
you feel his love and protection. Just come.
WHATEVER YOUR POSITION IS,
 Just say with me: Father, I know that you
love me and have a dwelling place for me, I
repent for my lack of intimacy with you. I
choose to come home and get to know and
become familiar with all the wonderful rooms
that are in your house. Draw me and teach
me how to become your friend. Holy Spirit,
help me to come to my Father’s house.
 In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
NOW IS YOUR TURN.
 What people would be doing in the following
places in the house of god?
 The attic.
 The Balcony.
 The terrace.
 Give your personal opinion about what type
of relationship can be cultivated on those
places.
NEXT WEEK
 Next week we will study a couple of
dreams from the bible.
 We will focus on what the dreamers did
after they had their dream.
 Thank you for coming tonight.
 See you next week.

Different rooms in the father's house

  • 2. JOHN 14:1-6 (NIV)  Jesus Comforts His Disciples  14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
  • 3. JOHN 14:6 (NKJV)  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  Jesus went to prepare rooms, dwelling places for us. This rooms can be visited now on this time, you can experience the knowing of the different rooms in the Father’s house.
  • 4. BECOMING A FRIEND  Let’s compare our natural dwelling with the one in heaven.  Having a quick look to this study, you could determine where are you standing in the House of God.  As in the natural, if you are just visiting a person that you just had known for the first time, you won’t pass further than the dining room, you may ask permission to use the Bathroom though.
  • 5. ACQUAINTED WITH  As you become acquainted with this person, he will invite you to have dinner, you will be more relaxed and act in in a more natural way, you will not feel a complete estranger any more.  As your relationship with this person ascends to the category of friendship you feel comfortable with this person whom you know, like, and trust; you will go to the different rooms with confidence. You will feel you are welcome and accepted in his house.
  • 6. PARTNERING WITH  As you treat more this person, your relationship could escalate to a partner in business.  As you become associated with this person you have more and more confidence and you are now able to freely go through the whole house.  Your friend at times could even entrust you with the keys of the hold house and put you in charge and custody of all his goods.
  • 7. IN THE SPIRITUAL REALM  In the spiritual realm, in our relationship with God the same process happens with us. At the beginning we just approach to His living room, them little by little as we fellowship with Him we start to know other rooms from His house, and as with and old good friend we freely go through all the rooms; we get to know them all and we may even have a preferred one.
  • 8. PSALM 65:4 (NKJV)  4 Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple. God invite us to come and stay at home with him, not jus as a visitor, but to stay with Him as a son
  • 10. THE LIVING ROOM ● It’s a place where you receive visits, or where you are received when you go to your friends. ● Talk and fellowship. ● Let requests be known unto God. ● Where you ask and you receive. ● Here is where you seek and shall find.
  • 11. THE LIVING ROOM ● In here we: ● Sit Down with the Father. ● Talk to him about the things of the day and present our requests. ● Here we present all our supplications and cares. ◆ Sadly many Christians live here
  • 12. THE LIVING ROOM ● They relationship with God is: ● Talking to God just when they’re in need. ● Trying to see what God has for them. ● Asking and seeking the things they need. ● Some get trap in their own things, they are just talking about their Kingdom, their ministries, finances, bills, family,
  • 13. You cannot live in the living room ● Check your heart: What is that you talk the most to God when praying? ● Is your prayer focus on you or Him? ● A relationship cannot be centered only on asking. ● Look for the place of giving your love and freely receiving it.
  • 15. THE KITCHEN ● The kitchen is the place where people are serving, working and preparing things for God. ● Is the Place of “Doing”. ● The Kitchen is necessary, but if all you know of the house is the Living room and the Kitchen, then you are too busy. ● In the Kitchen you are the Elder son.
  • 16. THE KITCHEN ● Mary was at the feet of Jesus, she was having intimacy with Jesus by just seating at His feet and listening to his words. That filled her heart. ● Martha was busy in the kitchen with serving and the work she was doing. She lost the main point of a complete relationship: Intimacy.
  • 17. THE KITCHEN ● The kitchen is a great and glorious place of producing good fruit and doing the Father’s business. ● But at the same time can be a place where out of too much serving we lost sight of the Glory and Intimacy with God. ● If we don’t have equilibrium we can easily be burnt out.
  • 19. THE DININGROOM ● Psalm 23:5 (NKJV) ● 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
  • 20. ● Psalm 34:8 ● 8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! ● Psalm 119:103 ● 103 How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
  • 21. Psalm 81:16 16 He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; And with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.”
  • 22. THE DININGROOM ● In His Dining Room there are two very noticeable seats: One is for Jesus, and the other one is yours. ● You and Him are prominent in all the group of people. ● In this place we have the Bread of Life, Living Water and the New Wine; and of course never misses a pot of Honey.
  • 23. THE DININGROOM ● Just as you need in the natural to drink and eat every day, so we have the same needs in the spiritual realm. ● This is the room of experiences where God touches us. ● But we cannot live only of experiences
  • 25. THE BATHROOM ● Place of repentance and of cleansing, and cleaning; place of getting rid of some unwanted stuff. ● EVERY CHRISTIAN needs to visit the bathroom, ● Some Christians believe that once they are saved, they don’t need to visit the bathroom.
  • 26. ● 1 John 1:9 ● New King James Version (NKJV) ● 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  • 27. It’s good to go to the cleansing place. ● It is absurd to believe that one doesn’t need the bathroom, it’s like suddenly you decide not to relief yourself, and think you are going to be OK. ● Some Christians live holding everything, they have spiritual constipation, not realizing they can visit the bathroom and get rid of everything.
  • 28. THE BATHROOM ● There are others that live in the bathroom, they are living in shame, guilt and condemnation, they don’t dare to come out of the bathroom. ● They go the bathroom but still feel dirty. They feel shame because they feel they haven’t been forgiven, and repeat the process again and again.
  • 29. THE BASEMENT ● There are Christians who live in the basement, it’s their secret place. ● A basement is not in the open, there is no fresh air and there are no windows
  • 30. THE BASEMENT ● The basement is dark, humid and dingy. ● It’s messy, a place where you leave everything hung out. ● A place where you throw all your junk and don’t bring your friends into.
  • 31. THE BASEMENT ● Look for those friends that will help you to clean up. ● Don’t think that if you don’t go to the basement things would go away by themselves
  • 32. THE BASEMENT ● It is the place of intercession, warfare, birthing and calling forth things. ● The things that happen out in the open, happen in the basement first. ● What happens down in the basement is the foundation of what God does.
  • 33. THE BASEMENT ● When your basement is clean, then you can have an extra room where to enjoy a time of meditation, reflection and spend some private time reading and studying the word of God, this place becomes your prayer closet.
  • 34. THE BASEMENT ● As in the natural a home cannot stand without a basement or foundation, ● No work of God can stand without a foundation of prayer.
  • 35. THE BASEMENT ● 2 Timothy 2:19 ● New King James Version (NKJV) ● 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
  • 37. THE BEDROOM ● Is the place of intimacy with Jesus. ● In here He touches you and He kisses you with the kisses of His mouth. ● In this place you feel like in a honeymoon with your King. ● In here is like living the Song of Solomon with Jesus.
  • 38. THE BEDROOM ● The sad thing about the bedroom is that some Christians fell terribly uncomfortable and don’t know how to be a lover and friend of God, and so they won’t stay long in this place of intimacy. ● In the Bedroom you are secure in God’s love and you know His acceptance. ● All ministry needs to flow out of this room.
  • 39. THE BEDROOM ● It is so good to start in the bedroom, here you will receive great revelation , but if you don’t persist on intimacy, you will end up in the Kitchen and get stuck in there. ● People start to notice that you have been with Jesus and have received something fresh from God.
  • 40. THE BEDROOM ● Acts 4:13 (NKJV) ● 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
  • 42. THE REC ROOM ● This is the place of fun, praise, celebration and joyous dancing. ● This is the place to worship The King. ● In here the river of God is flowing. ● Break troughs come when worshiping. ● Worship, life, and joy fills the Rec Room.
