From the LED to the Complete Lighting Solution
Powerful LEDs are advancing ever more to the fore as A further plus factor of the LEDs is their extremely long
ultra-modern lighting, not least because of rising energy service life, which can lie between 25.000 and up to
prices and due to Ordinance 245/2009 of the European 100.000 hours depending on their design. Apart from the

In 1931, the International Commission on illumination (CIE)
devised a method for representing colour. The CIE 1931
Chromaticity Diagram is a tool intended to illustrate the

The XLamp XB-D is Cree’s newest lighting class LED, bringing the next generation
of performance and price to LED lighting applications. The XLamp XB-D delivers
similar performance to the XP-G LED in a package that is 48% smaller than the
                                                     XLamp XP footprint.

Using Cree’s newest generation of silicon carbide-based LED chips, XB-D is
optimized to dramatically lower system cost in any illumination application.

XLamp® XT-E
Highest-performing lighting-class LED

                                                                                                                                                         LEDs
Cree XLamp XT-E White LEDs are the highest-performance white LEDs available.
The XT-E LED delivers twice the lumens-per-dollar of previously available LEDs
in the popular XP footprint. By leveraging the popular XP footprint, customers
can easily incorporate the XT-E LED into existing XP LED designs to shorten
design cycle and improve time to market.

Built using the latest generation of Cree’s silicon carbide based LED chips that
deliver higher flux and efficacy, the XLamp XT-E White LEDs set new standards
of efficacy, light extraction and quality. Designed to accelerate LED lighting adop-

Lighting-Class Performance, Small Package

                                                                                                                                                     LEDs
The XLamp XM-L is the industry’s brightest, highest performance lighting-class LED.
With breakthrough light output and efficacy, XM-L is designed for very high-lumen ap-
plications such as high-bay or roadway lighting.

XLamp XM-L LEDs offer the unique combination of very high efficacy at very high
drive currents, providing a 20 % efficiency gain over the XLamp XP-G LED at the
same current. With this available efficacy, XM-L can lower total system cost by
reducing the number of LEDs and optics in the system.

LEDs

The Cree XLamp ML-C LED brings lighting-class performance to 1/3-watt LEDs
and continues Cree’s history of leading-edge innovation in LEDs for lighting
applications. The XLamp ML-C LED brings high performance and a smooth look
to a wide range of lighting applications, including linear lighting, LED replace-
ment lamps, fluorescent retrofits and retail-display lighting. The ML-C LED is
available in parallel and series as well minimum 80, 85 and 90-CRI options for
a wide range of color temperatures. With a typical forward voltage of 6.4 V at
50 mA, ML-C series LEDs provide a high-voltage option that can enable a driver
that is cheaper, more efficient and smaller in size to lower system cost.
The minimum-80, 85 and 90 CRI ML-C LEDs enable customers to address
applications, such as retail and restaurant lighting, where high CRI is required.

  • 4. Cromaticity Diagramm Cree’s Standard Chromaticity Regions plotted on the 1931 CIE Curve In 1931, the International Commission on illumination (CIE) devised a method for representing colour. The CIE 1931 Chromaticity Diagram is a tool intended to illustrate the way the human eye experiences light, using an x, y coordi- nate system. The outer boundary represents colours with a purity of 100% and the wavelength is listed in nanometers.
