CHINASAURS
Now Open Through September 5, 2011
MNS’ Science Building (1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park)

You’ve heard of T.rex, but how about Tarbosaurus? Or Tsintaosaurus? New for summer are
the Chinasaurs - foreign creatures with exotic names that represent the very latest dinosaur
discoveries. Immerse yourself in the prehistoric past and learn why China is the current pinnacle
of paleontology.

Chinasaurs features more than 20 full-scale dinosaur skeletons – up to 42 feet long – and
fossilized dinosaur nests and eggs. Five animatronic Chinasaurs that move around in life-like
ways bring the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods to life. Interactive dig pits, hands-on
“touchable” fossils and craft stations will further immerse you in the Chinasaurs experience!

Extend your journey to the past by enhancing your Chinasaurs visit with an IMAX® film! The
money-saving Double Dino package combines prehistoric China with ancient oceans by pairing
the Chinasaurs exhibit with the new IMAX® film, Sea Rex: Journey to a Prehistoric World.

Chinasaurs membership special!
Join, upgrade or renew a Family or Family Plus membership during Chinasaurs, and get fierce
dino-deals! Along with free admission to the museum, free guest passes to the IMAX® and
Planetarium shows and big savings on traveling exhibits… take advantage of these offers* and
receive free dinosaur visors, discounted admission to Chinasaurs, and exclusive availability for
dinosaur-themed birthday parties!

*offers vary based on level of membership

SEA REX: JOURNEY TO A PREHISTORIC WORLD
Now Through September 5, 2011
TI Founders IMAX® Theater, MNS’ Science Building (1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park)

Twenty million years before dinosaurs roamed the Earth, “Sea Rexes” ruled the seas! Sea Rex:
Journey to a Prehistoric World is our latest IMAX® experience. The story centers on a tour of a
modern-day aquatic center. Soon the movie whisks you back through the Triassic, Jurassic and
Cretaceous periods to discover creatures like the powerful Liopleurodon, the long-necked
Elasmosaurus, the “eye-lizard” Ophthalmosaurus, the ferocious Prognathodon and the massive
Shonisaurus.

A perfect companion to Chinasaurs, the money-saving Double Dino package combines Sea Rex
with Chinasaurs - the dinosaur exhibit that celebrates prehistoric China.

Details, photos and trailers for the film are available on the Official Sea Rex site.

Showtimes and online ticketing are available by clicking here!

DOLPHINS
Now playing through November 17, 2011
TI Founders IMAX® Theater, MNS’ Science Building (1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park)

Dolphins are the most playful and charming creatures in the oceans. And taking a swim with them
is a great way to cool off this summer! Dolphins, our latest IMAX® offering, follows schools of
the delightful creatures through the waters of the Bahamas and Patagonia, as marine biologists
study their advanced communication methods and playful “friendships” with man.

Dolphins is an Academy Award® nominated documentary narrated by acclaimed actor Pierce
Brosnan and featuring original music by Sting.

Marine blogs, photos and behind-the-scenes information on the film are available on the Dolphins
home page. Critics say Dolphins “…finds and maintains the perfect balance of spectacular images
and solid science.”

Charlie and his friend, the Kiwi, travel back in time to visit the dinosaurs. Along with great-
grandpa Charlie, they’ll make an amazing discovery about the kiwi!

The fun continues with interactive discovery boxes, games, puzzles and even live budgie birds!

general admission for non-members.

JULY 4th WEEKEND
July 2-4, 2011
MNS Science Building and Nature Building (1318 S. 2nd Ave. and 3535 Grand Ave. in Fair Park)

It’s hot outside – so check out some indoor “fireworks!” For the holiday weekend, we’re
presenting our amazing stage shows. Electric Theater and Fire & Ice, our most popular
presentations, are usually only for reserve groups and field trips. But July 2-4, we’re offering them
to the public.

Electric Theater is a fireworks show like no other! The interactive performance reveals how
batteries work, the power of electro-magnetism, the static electricity that exists all around us and
ends with a spectacular light show! Electric Theater shows are at 1pm on July 2-4.
Fire & Ice exemplifies the power of temperature. Liquid Nitrogen, heating elements (including
the human body) and mysterious gases are the focus of several interactive experiments.
Volunteers will help freeze, burn and even (safely) blow up various items to demonstrate how
states of matter are affected by temperature. Fire & Ice shows are at 3pm on July 2-4.

These special Independence Day presentations are FREE to members and included with the cost
of general admission for non-members.

DISCOVER DINOSAURS
July 9-10, 2011
MNS Science Building and Nature Building (1318 S. 2nd Ave. and 3535 Grand Ave. in Fair Park)

If you “dig” dinos – you won’t want to miss this weekend-long family festival!

In addition to the popular dinosaurs and fossils in our permanent collection, and the stunning
traveling exhibit Chinasaurs, we’re bringing in all kinds of activities and exhibitors to make it the
biggest dinosaur weekend yet! Discover Dinosaurs will let kids cast their own fossils, crack open
mud dino eggs and take on the T.rexcavator machine. Visitors will dig up dinosaurs and bones,
and see modern-day raptors take flight.

MNS Discovery Days are weekend-long festivals of highly-specialized fun and learning! Each
weekend has a specific theme – Discover Construction is coming in August!

All of the Discovery Days festivals are FREE to members and included with the cost of general
admission for non-members.

DALLAS CITYSCAPE

MNS Nature Building (3535 Grand Ave. in Fair Park)

A massive replica of the Dallas skyline – built entirely from LEGO® bricks! Dallas CityScape
offers miniature, colorful versions of the skyscrapers of “Big D,” along with LEGO® versions of
Cowboys Stadium, and the Museum’s future home – the Perot Museum of Nature & Science
now under construction in Victory Park. After exploring their LEGO® home town, they’ll get
hands-on learning about engineering and construction as they build their own LEGO® structures!

Dallas CityScape is an annual exhibit that serves as a fundraiser for East Dallas Community
Schools, a nonprofit organization operating early childhood learning centers to meet the needs of
children nine and under.

Dallas CityScape is FREE for members and included with the cost of general admission for non-
members.
MUMMIES: SECRETS OF THE PHARAOHS
Now playing through September 22, 2011

No need to fear the mummies’ curse! From the safety of our IMAX® theater, learn about these
fascinating beings of the past who offer new hope for the future. Mummies: Secrets of the
Pharaohs is part historic journey, part forensic adventure and entirely fascinating. The film
features incredible new discoveries made by researchers and explorers. Watch as scientists piece
together archeological and genetic clues to unlock the mysteries of ancient Egyptian mummies.

Details, photos and trailers for the film are available on the official Mummies site. Film reviews
declare it “the best mummy movie yet” and “breathtaking.”

Showtimes and online ticketing are available by clicking here!

or Fire and Ice show - and wake up with an eye-opening IMAX® film.

MNS sleepovers are great for schools, churches, scout troops, sports teams, and sororities – any
group that wants to bond and have fun. Sleepovers focus on learning, team building, and most
importantly, entertainment! And the new MNS offerings provide even more age-appropriate
customized fun for different age groups – kids, teens and young adults! Packages also include a
