• Free access to four acres of gardens,including a pleasure garden,
kitchen garden and eight glasshouses from the 19th Century.
• The resident wildlife,ponds and planting provides a tranquil setting.
• Interpretation boards provide a self guided option.
• Group tours,talks and workshops can be booked to enhance your visit.
Sessions are suitable for adults,families,pupils and after-school clubs.
• Annual programme of events and outreach talks available.
• Fully accessible facilities are available for visitors.
• Cafe currently opens on Sundays and with advance notice,
refreshments for groups can be arranged. Picnic benches
• Volunteer opportunities and events are available in the cafe or garden.

GrappenhallHeysEstateinSouthWarringtonwascreatedby
bankerThomas Parr,around 1830.It originally comprised of
150acresandflourishedthroughtheearly1900s. Eventually,
the estate declined afterWorldWar II,resulting in the sale of
the estate and the demolition of the family mansion in 1975.
Despite the walled garden surviving decades of neglect and
undergoing successive ownership,support to reinstate the
gardens to its former glory was realised.The kitchen garden,
pleasure garden and eight Victorian glasshouses have been
beautifully transformed and are now open to the public.
