ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OR AGAINST… BULLFIGHTING?
(This composition has been written by Airam Guerra Marrero, 2nd Baccalaureate A
student- IES Playa de Arinaga- Agüimes) – (Unit 5- For or against compositions)
“Bullfighting” has always been a very interesting discussion because
each person thinks different about it. On this issue, there are people who
support bullfighting, but in my place, it is not, so I’ve decided to be against
bullfighting.
As far as I’m concerned, there are many reasons to be against
bullfighting. In my opinion, these practices are a violation of animal rights, and
bullfighters and people who encourage these practices should be considered
murderers, because they consider just fun seeing the suffering and death of a
bull.
The reasons, which I principally rely on to come to this conclusion, are
that we, in real life, condemn the murderers of people but the killing and
expropriation of animal rights is not punished, but praised.
A clear example of this practice is found in our country, because here
bullfighting is a public entertainment, where people enjoy seeing the animals
suffering, or that the bullfighter cut the ears and the tail of the bull.
In conclusion, as far as I’m concerned, bullfighting should be illegal, and if
carried out, punished harshly. Respect the rights of animals and let them live
peacefully, without attempting to kill human beings just for the sake of having
fun.
