The Predifloc™ Offer
Predifloc™ is an advanced, predictive control tool which associates
algorithms capable of anticipating the changes in the treatment rate of
physical-chemical processes.
Predifloc™ uses data from turbidity sensors and probes analyzing
specific elements (such as phosphorus), which are placed upstream and
downstream physico-chemical treatment to anticipate the dynamic
effect of the disturbances. Predifloc™ continuously calculates and
adjusts the flow rate of chemical dosing pumps while complying with
the specified water quality discharge guidelines.
Compared with traditional control systems of PID type (proportional-integral-derivative), Predifloc™ delivers
more accurate results. It enables the optimization of physical-chemical treatment performance while reducing
chemical dosing by approx. 15 to 20% and up 40% in some cases.
Such savings in chemical consumption make it possible to achieve a very short return on investment (1 to 2 years
on average), which is all the shorter if the consumption is greater.
Predifloc™ makes it possible to control and minimize the consumption of chemical products (coagulants
and flocculants) in physical-chemical treatment systems.Depending on the configuration,Predifloc™ is ideally
adapted for water treatment that involves the removal of suspended solids and phosphorous.
Keeping the consumption of chemical products in water treatment to a minimum
has become a major environmental issue. With that in mind, R&D teams of Veolia
Water have developed Predifloc™, a tool for advanced control of chemicals reagents.
Applications
In municipal applications Predifloc™ is recommended for:
 Primary or tertiary physical-chemical treatment of
wastewater or stormwater
 Drinking water and process water clarification
Predifloc™ can be combined with the following water
treatment technologies developed by Veolia Water
Solutions & Technologies:
 Actiflo® (coagulation, ballasted flocculation
and high-rate settling)
 Multiflo™ (coagulation, flocculation and
rapid lamellar settling)
 Spidflow™ (coagulation and rapid flotation)

Implementation
To facilitate the implementation of the Predifloc™ tool,VeoliaWater
Solutions & Technologies has developed a standard automatic
operational block which can be easily integrated into an existing
program at a site already equipped with automatic control systems.
For all other cases, a standard cabinet based solution has been
chosen. This cabinet interfaces in Ethernet or with any other PLC
(Programmable Logic Controller).

VEOLINK Advanced Control PrediflocTM Optimize your physical-chemical treatment Reduce your chemical consumption Lower your carbon footprint The Predifloc™ Offer Predifloc™ is an advanced, predictive control tool which associates algorithms capable of anticipating the changes in the treatment rate of physical-chemical processes. Predifloc™ uses data from turbidity sensors and probes analyzing specific elements (such as phosphorus), which are placed upstream and downstream physico-chemical treatment to anticipate the dynamic effect of the disturbances. Predifloc™ continuously calculates and adjusts the flow rate of chemical dosing pumps while complying with the specified water quality discharge guidelines. Compared with traditional control systems of PID type (proportional-integral-derivative), Predifloc™ delivers more accurate results. It enables the optimization of physical-chemical treatment performance while reducing chemical dosing by approx. 15 to 20% and up 40% in some cases. Such savings in chemical consumption make it possible to achieve a very short return on investment (1 to 2 years on average), which is all the shorter if the consumption is greater. Predifloc™ makes it possible to control and minimize the consumption of chemical products (coagulants and flocculants) in physical-chemical treatment systems.Depending on the configuration,Predifloc™ is ideally adapted for water treatment that involves the removal of suspended solids and phosphorous. Keeping the consumption of chemical products in water treatment to a minimum has become a major environmental issue. With that in mind, R&D teams of Veolia Water have developed Predifloc™, a tool for advanced control of chemicals reagents. For all other cases, a standard cabinet based solution has been chosen. This cabinet interfaces in Ethernet or with any other PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).
