  8. Pasta itself is a good source of complex carbohydrates, and a moderate source of protein, containing essential vitamins and minerals. High in complex carbohydrates and provides a "time release" of energy. - Grain products can be thought of as the "great regulators" having positive effects on the control of blood sugar, intestinal function, blood cholesterol and appetite.
