Profile
Currently studying towards a Bachelor of Accountancy at Massey University, I have completed 17 papers
towards my degree and have a current GPA of 8.63. I will graduate in June 2016 so am looking for a summer
internship in which I can further develop my accounting skills. I am interested in auditing and business advisory
services and am committed to becoming a CPA.
Relevant Skills and Strengths
Communication skills:
- Through my work as a research assistant I have gained excellent written and verbal communication skills
as well as the ability to approach and deal with a wide range of people.
- When working in security and hospitality I developed excellent conflict resolution skills and learned to
relate to a wide range of people.
Customer service skills:
- My hospitality and customer service roles provided me with an excellent grounding in customer service.
- I experienced dealing with a wide range of people and accommodated their needs with professionalism
and competence
Problem solving and analytical skills
- As a research assistant, I demonstrated the ability to identify and critique information, and to define
parameters to determine which information was relevant. This was important in this role as a high
degree of accuracy was required.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team:
- Work well with others always demonstrating cooperation and flexibility.
- Gained experience working in teams through University studies, customer service roles, and in classical
music ensembles and orchestras.
- Also work well unsupervised as proven in my roles in security and hospitality.
Time management skills:
- I have demonstrated excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines while studying
both by correspondence and on campus, which has contributed to my A grade average.
Leadership experience:
- Have trained and supervised many new employees in my security and hospitality roles. Most notably as
assistant manager for Olive Tree Motel where I was in charge of a small team of staff.
Computer literacy:
- Through my study I have gained competence in all Microsoft Office programmes as well as MYOB and
Xero.
- Learned to quickly adapt to new software programmes in my work in security as I worked for clients in a
wide range of industries.

Interests
I am interested in classical music and for a number of years played the bassoon in several reputable
