There is no one reason for epilepsy.
Children may have been born with a brain defect.
A severe head injury is a more common cause for
epilepsy in adults.

4. Types of epilepsy
Absence seizures- Also known as staring spells, the person
having this type of seizure causes them to stare off into space.
Generalized- Seizure activity in the whole brain causes the
person to pass-out
Partial- Seizure activity in a small brain, the person is aware
but unable to communicate with people.
Tonic-clonic- Also known as Grand- Mal, this seizure makes the
person having it go rigid and have small muscle jerks.

There is no known cure for epilepsy.
Medications are available and is highly
recommended.
Medications may stop you from having seizures.

Be careful when going on amusement park rides.

Special dogs can detect when someone is going to
have a seizure.
They can know this up to seven hours before the
person has it.
Can NOT be trained to do this.
