1. Interview Tips
1) Build Rapport
* Eye contact, smiling, and enthusiasmare key in your interview.
* Many managers express that candidates don’t show enough enthusiasm for the
position so make sure you do so.
* Ask questions about the company and tie it directly to your previous experience.
* Not only ask questions about the company but ask about the responsibilities of the
position.
* Be involved and listen to what the manager is saying
* Before the interview research the company and gather as much information both on
the company and who you will be interviewing with.
* Keep them interested and answer questions with relevance.
* Emphasize how your qualities will benefit the company.
2) Dress for Success
* First impressions are everything and they make a difference in the hiring process.
* Be clean and neat.
* The best option for both men and women would be a suit.
* For men I suggest using a tie.
3) Do your market research
* Review the companies’ website.
* Review what the specifics are for the position.
* The more you know about the company, the better you can tailor your questions and
answers.
* Bring in 5 copies of your updated resume to pass on to other managers.
* Think of 3 previous projects that you were successful in and got recognition.
* Listen to the questions and give examples to back up your answer.
* Be specific and try not to ramble.
* Don’t disqualify yourself and if you don’t know an answer tie it in to your previous
experience.
* Be prepared to describe your top 3 assets in terms of skills, traits, and abilities
* NEVER BE LATE!!
* Arrive at least 10 minutes before interview.
