2. My role and what it entails
 Responsible for overseeing the commissioning on the
mental health budget, answerable to the CCG board.
 To bring a GP clinical perspective to commissioning,
designing and performance managing contracts and
services.
 To suggest/design new services in Mental health, to
‘trouble shoot ‘ and bring people together.
 To liaise with the third and private sectors and service
users and carers and other borough leads.
 Bring a national and international perpective via
Leadership network/SCN

3. Current and Future Priorities in
the Mental Health commissioning
world
 Young peoples mental health and being able to bring
together many different groups to be able to deliver a
cohesive and comprehensive service.(EIS, ED,
 Evidence based practice e.g prescribing, therapies, place
of intervention.
 Tariffs, can we split them? What will they really mean?
 Will local boroughs take over commissioning?

4. Key Issues in Mental Health
 Parity of Esteem
 Crisis care (concordat), new ‘ambulances’?, street triage, RAID etc
 ‘Nobody made the connection’,(neurodevelopmental)
 Dementia
 Recovery, Resilience, enablement.
 Eating Disorders and perinatal mental health.
