Progress Report for
Academic & Entrepreneurial
Seminar
Reg. No. : NPC 2013/069181/08
2
Introduction
It is with great profound gratitude in presenting this report with effect from 2014 Academic
and Entrepreneurial Seminar, hosted at Saul Tsotetsi Sport Centre.
Despite many challenges, we can proudly say that we have managed to make a positive
impact in helping to add value to the good image of our beloved district.
Although a lot of time has been exhausted in trying to get the necessary support from various
departments, in the end we strategically started to implement the programme at an opportune
time. Having achieved that through selfless and great sense of loyalty as well as patriotism
towards our community, we hope we will get the necessary assistance in terms of funding and
formal acknowledgements.
Through the process of navigation and exploration, we found Rising Generation Foundation
as an appropriate organizing principle. It’s a legacy project of a high calling to serve the
community with a great sense of selflessness loyalty and with integration. It is geared to bring
back the human dignity and restore a sense of well-being.
The Rising Generation Foundation is a concept that is educational in scope and community
based in character.

2. What was the event about?
The aim of the event was to make learners aware of the requirements, training, and
practical nature of different occupations. To ensure that the learners are taking the
appropriate subjects for their intended the career choice and have ultimately chosen
careers which are in line with their strengths and interests.
On the day of the event, four speakers from different career fields, namely; medicine &
pharmaceutical, applied science & engineering, accounting & finance, and marketing &
management, conveyed a speech to the learners/youth regarding what the different careers
entails. There was also one main speaker whom motivated the learners/youth with the
theme “Unleashing You Full Potential”.
3. Where did the event take place?
 Saul Tsotetsi Sport Centre (Main Hall), Zone 14 Sebokeng.
4. When did the event take place?
 The event was on the 10th
of May 2014
 Due to unforeseen reasons the event started a bit later than expected. (11h00-15h00)
5. Why was the event scheduled?
 Government schools aim to provide learners with the opportunity to put theory into
practice. Thus we (RGF) are concerned that majority of the learners are not aware of
what their choice of career actually entails in practice. We therefore organised and
hosted an event to expose learners to the realities of the different careers.
