Leeza Ali
Leeza Ali is a Marketing Analyst at Broad Haven Associates. Her
core competencies include simplifying complex strategies into
digestible chunks, social media strategies and investor relations.
Previously, Leeza worked for the Office of Mayor Bloomberg
under the Chief Service Officer of NYC, Diahann Billings-‐Burford.
Working strategically with the NYC Service team to motivate
students across NYC to volunteer, Leeza helped organize and
direct large-‐scale service projects for educational and disaster
relief initiatives for over 1,000 NYC interns.
Leeza is a scholar of Emotional Intelligence and has a wide
variety of experience in the healthcare field as both a
researcher (at the Yale New Haven Hospital) and a provider of
arts related therapeutic activities for patients with severe mood
disorders (at the Connecticut Mental Health Center). Leeza also
has experience launching successful social ventures, most notably a Benefit Concert Series to
raise funds for P.E.C.A., a nonprofit that builds schools in Afghanistan for girls. Leeza, in
partnership with the PBS TV program “From the Top; Live at Carnegie Hall”, published a blog
called "Leeza Ali Helps Bring New Opportunities to Children in Afghanistan through the Power
of Music" to bring awareness to her series of benefit concerts.
Leeza is a nationally renown pianist, composer, and director of benefit concerts. She made her
orchestral debut soloing with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra at age 9, and has since
performed as soloist with the Minnesota and Lake Superior Chamber orchestras, as soloist at
Carnegie Hall, & as special entertainment for MLB games. She is the winner of numerous
inter-‐state music and composition competitions, including Minnesota Idol. Most recently,
Leeza was one of the winners of the Yale Friends of Music Recital Competition, selected
playing one of her original compositions; a 3-‐movement sonata for piano and double bass.
Leeza is pursuing her B.S. In Psychology (GPA: 3.94) and B.A. in Music (GPA: 4.0) at Yale
University. She has served as a research assistant for the Yale Center for Emotional
Intelligence and the Yale Infant Cognition Center. Last summer, she was awarded the Yale
College Dean’s Fellowship in the Humanities & Social Sciences, giving her full funding to carry
out an original research study exploring emotional intelligence in pediatric patients with sickle
cell disease.
Leeza also plans to complete a B.A. in music with an emphasis in film scoring and writing
inspirational songs for Musical Theatre.
