SINGAPORE
Geographical Location of Singapore ●It is located at the southern tip of Malay Peninsula between Malaysia and Indonesia. Singapore Strait divides Singapore from Indonesia and Straits of Johor divides it from Malaysia. ●It covers an area of 699 sq. km. and 193 km. of vast coastline.   ●The colonial district lies to the north of the Singapore river and considered to be an astonishing place because it offers glimpses of the British rule. ●Jurong rest in the west of the island and is a popular industrial area. ●Some of the older residential areas, a wonderful beach park and the international airport are located in the eastern coast of the city. ●Huge and flourishing housing developments can be seen in the northeastern part of Singapore. ●The central north portion of the island is filled with the undeveloped land and remaining forests of Singapore. TRIVIA: The government has used to impose fines on thousands of offences like not flushing a public toilet, smoking in a public place and etc. That’s the reason why Singapore was unofficially nicknamed as the “fine” city.
Precipitation, Climate and Prevailing Weather ●The climate of Singapore is tropical. It does not have clear-cut seasons like summer, spring, autumn and winter. ●The weather is hot and humid all year round with only a little change in temperature between winter and summer. Rain is possible all year round. ●The types of weather phenomena in Singapore are Northeast Monsoon Surge (these produce strong winds that causes prolonged moderate to heavy rain), Sumatra Squalls (eastward moving thunderstorm lasting 1 hr. to 2 hrs), Widespread Prolonged Haze and Sea Breeze Effect. ●The driest weather is in September when a mean of 122 mm of precipitation occurs across 14 days. ●The wettest weather is in December when a mean of 306 mm of precipitation occurs across 19 days. ●Singapore's climate receives an average of 2282 mm of precipitation per year, or 190 mm per month. ●On average, there are 179 days per year with more than 0.1 mm of precipitation or 15 days with a quantity of rain, sleet, snow etc. per month. ●The mean temperature in Singapore is 27.0 °C. ● In February, March, April, May, June & July, the highest monthly mean high temperature is 31 °C. ● In January, February, October, November & December., The lowest monthly average low temperature 23 °C. ●The average annual relative humidity is 80.4% and average monthly relative humidity ranges from 79% in February, March and June to 82% in January, November & December. ●Average sunlight hours in Singapore range between 4.5 hours per day in December and 6.4 hours per day in February. ●There are an average of 2064 hours of sunlight per year with an average of 5.7 hours of sunlight per day.
Singapore’s Temperature in Farenheit
Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and Central Catchment Nature Reserve are homes to more than 840 flowering plants and over 500 species of animals (including butterflies). With such an astonishing variety of plants, animals and insect life, the nature reserves are indeed treasure houses of Singapore’s biodiversity. (from: Eco-business.com) The Tropical Forest areas in Singapore
Singapore is composed of tropical rainforests but due to the urbanization, it decreased from the recent years. They have a strong law to protect their remaining resources especially their Tropical Rainforests and animals.

Importance in my course This is important since as a Resource Manager, I will be needing raw materials that might be extracted from the nature. It is my responsibility as a manager to be effective and efficient at the same time. I will be needing resources for production and whether I like it or not, I will have to extract from nature and affect it. The only thing that I can do is to lessen it or have a better alternative. In example, instead of letting my employees use plastic bags for the packaging of my product, then I will look for an alternative that is eco-friendly and can be recycled. In such way, I can contribute to the nature, economy and other people who will be at the same position like me. Importance for me It plays a very important role in my life basically because it sustains life here on Earth. If there is no ecosystem, biomes and other things, then there will be no places like Singapore which I can enjoy. It is very important for I know that it can face extinction and I would like to stop that. I can make the change and pass the beauty of this world to other generations. This world is only one and all of us will benefit or take the consequences that we are doing now. Every one can make a difference and I know that a simple presentation like this can do something to contribute in the important roles of this activity.
