1. 7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do
you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
2. I feel that I have learnt a lot in the process of making my media products.
In the preliminary task I did not take into consideration the
importance of the colours, lighting and mise-en-scene when
taking the photographs for the front cover and contents page.
The pictures I have used in the preliminary front cover is very
basic, and is a little to big in terms of close up as it leaves little
room for coverlines. Also, there isn't much of a background, so
the reader may not be able to tell that this is a school magazine.
These pictures are mainly of girls as there is only one boy. I should have
included an equal number of boys and girls in the pictures to show that my
magazine is designed and aimed at both boys and girls.
I have used a variety of boys and girls in the images for
my final products. I think this is important because it
shows that my magazine is designed and aimed at both
genders.
I have taken more thought and consideration towards
the backgrounds of the pictures, and the mise-en-
scene. I really like the brick wall behind the images of
Becky, and I think it works really well. I have included
plain backgrounds behind the other pictures to
emphasise the image of Becky.
I have also learnt how important the layout of the text
is. For example on the double page spread, it needs to
broke up with drop quotes and pictures otherwise it
looks too cluttered and boring to read.
