- Communities of practice (CoPs) are informal groups of people within the business community that have common goals, and interests, who work together to teach each other, and learn from one another. These people have a shared passion, or concern about a certain topic, and work collectively to reach their goals. Discovered they were able to use courses where admin staff could upload documents useful any member of the company Opened courses dedicated to organization for different factions of the company. For example, a course for managing activities related to the placement of students and providing partner their 80 partnering companies to access different cirricula in Moodle Moodle allows administrators to manage access to many objects (docs, wikis, etc.) so some parts can be shown to certain people, groups or everyone

- Business Problem: Applicants would submit handwritten application forms from the firm’s website Information was then manually collected and distributed to key stakeholders for review and interview selection Process was cumbersome and time consuming requiring something more efficient Why Moodle? A&L could fill out personal details in the questionnaire module and then be directed the Moodle quiz module to test key competencies This process was streamlined and reporting allowed them to assess applications by downloading data from Moodle and an application summary could be automatically send out to key stakeholders Easy to use Best option with regards to cost vs. benefit Applicants had more control over the process being able to login in and out, completing their application form at different times until they were ready to submit

Browse, search, and select from these hierarchies to define audiences, assign certifications and programs. Integration--Connect to your HR system and get your hierarchies updated automatically each day. Skills and Competencies Framework making it simple to build competency based learning programs in Totara Map competencies to positions, organizations, and courses. Competencies automatically appear in learning plans to users assigned to those positions and organizations. Link courses to competencies to automatically populate learning plans. Managing performance Powerful tools to manage employee performance. Conduct appraisals Discussion, feedback and analysis between managers and employees Align performance with personal and company goals
- 4. So you’ve got lots of ways to define when done means done for a course and the activities within a course. Make sure you: do all activities, some things, passing grades, manual review? Work with the course designers to discuss what’s right for this course Set up the activity and course completion rules activities based on your design decisions Communicate them - this is the most important step. Make sure the course instructions let learners know clearly what defines as completed. They need to know the rules too!
