- Good morning, Everyone I am just delighted to be here with you today. The theme for this year’s conference is Reflecting on Successes and Framing Futures which is so appropriate for our conversation today…hopefully, I will not be doing all the talking…I am hoping to inflame your intellect and solicit your pearls of wisdom as the National Forum on Information Literacy presently finds itself at a crossroad which may transfigure its outward appearance and reenergize its core mission. My goal is to condense 19 years of Forum history and address its future prospects into 40 minutes. But before I launch into the successes of the National Forum and its future prospects, I need to set the mood. Let me begin by stating a well known quote, “We must be the change we wish to see…. Social enterprises are profit-making businesses set up to tackle a social or environmental need.
