1. My Shape, My Home
By: Krista Kyker
Home is where I am from
My brother, mom, and dad,
From Sunday Church to evening supper
There was no room to be bad.
From chapter books and lesson Plans
My mom spread a crossed the floor,
From dad’s hard work and discipline
And from the hand-me-downs wore.
My family is from the go getter’s club
There is no room to fail,
Somehow I was left out of that
And my mistakes became my trail.
I am from second chances
And babies who gave me life,
From powder fresh and story books
And becoming another’s wife.
Determination and hard work
They are where I’ve ended-up,
But these things took a longtime coming
Because I had baggage I could not give-up.
The bad parts of my life combined
With the good and happy ones,
Together they all create a shape
That circles where I am from.
