• Zukerberg is known for

Facebook, Inc. and its

networking website as its
chairman, chief executive
officer, and controlling
shareholder.
3. Facebook
• In 2004, a group of friends at college created an
innovative new social media platform with the aim of
connecting Harvard students through an online
community.
• 14 years later, Facebook is one of the most influential
social networks in the world, boasting approximately
2.2 billion monthly users.
• It all began in 2003, when Facebook founder and CEO
Mark Zukerberg created an online programme called
“Facemash”, which allowed users to objectify fellow
students by comparing photos of their faces and
selecting who they deemed as “hotter”.

• User accounts ( with real names required), restricted to
@harvard.edu email addresses.
• Friends, including friend requests.
• Invitations ( no contact importer; you had to enter each email
address individually)
• Profiles, with a single photo for each user.
• Ability to list user metadata like gender, birthday , dorm,
phone number, favorite music, favorite books, “about me”,
courses.
• Search by name, class year, courses, other metadata.
• Some privacy restrictions to limit who could see your profile
(friends only, only people in my class year).
• A feature to visualize a user’s friend graph, which was later
cut.

11. Facebook as a Teaching Learning Tool
• Learning inside and outside classroom through using facebook to
communicate in a class, sending assignment, to share information
in a class, and using Facebook to ask and questions about how
create digital model utilizing AutoCAD.
• For digital modeling class students received instruction for tutorials
and quizzes using CiDOS .
• To create more interest to the students, communication during the
outgoing class using Facebook.
• They also are to communicate with classmates and lecturer using
Facebook.
• CiDOS is a system being designed in polytechnic for storing notes,
quizzes and tutorials for all the moduels being offered in
polytechnic.

15. Conclusion
• Facebook is the most important medium of mass
media as well as Teaching Learning Web Tool. It gives
the platform to share everything. And through
sharing or writing on Facebook you can improve your
language and also enhanced the knowledge about
the world’s current situation. Facebook is helpful for
documentation.
