[object Object],[object Object],My role is to ensure that everything runs smoothly in the group. I often give a helping hand in designing, manufacturing the F1 car. Last but not least, I give interesting ideas in group discussions. 2. Ng Kok Jun & Teo Ren Quan-  Researcher Our role is to research is to research more on the F1 car, like the green technology in cars, aerodynamics in cars and so on. Our research has proven useful in the designing department. 3.Tristan Tan Yu Ren-  Graphic Designer  My role is to design the team logo and colour schemes. I also work with other departments such as the design engineer to ensure that my colour schemes fit the shape of the F1 cars . 4. Tan Ang Wei-  Manufacturing Engineer My role is to manufacture the car, paint the car. I have to ensure that the car is sand properly, and that all the parts in the car is assembled correctly. 5. Seah Gang Xin- Resource Manager I organise group meetings, and also keep track of every member’s performance in the group. I take charge of time management too, and would give signal to the group when time is running out. 6. C. Harinivas- Design Engineer My main role is to design the F1 car. I made use of the streamlined shape and lightweight material sin the car. I am also responsible for the aerodynamic performance in our F1 car. Kok Jun Ren Quan Our Roles!
[object Object],[object Object],GREEN TECHNOLOGY IN CARS Alternative fuels for cars: Definition of green technology in cars: The desire to decrease environmental impacts and reduce oil and natural resources dependence in cars. As petro wastes natural resources, alternative fuels can be used to replace fuel. Below are some examples of alternative fuels.

The best green technologies in cars We should use electric motors and hydrogen fuel cell. If possible, we can combine them together to create ‘the greenest car’ in the world. Let me first introduce to you how both electric motors and hydrogen works.  In a flame of pure hydrogen gas, burning in air, the hydrogen (H 2 ) reacts with oxygen (O 2 ) to form water (H 2 O) and heat. It does not produce other chemical by-products, except for a small amount of nitrogen oxides. Hence a key feature of hydrogen as a fuel is that it is relatively non-polluting (since water is not a pollutant). Pure hydrogen does not occur naturally; it takes energy to manufacture it. Once manufactured it is an energy carrier (i.e. a store for energy first generated by other means). The energy is eventually delivered as heat when the hydrogen is burned. The heat in a hydrogen flame is a radiant emission from the newly formed water molecules. The water molecules are in an excited state on initial formation and then transition to a ground state, the transition unleashing thermal radiation. When burning in air, the temperature is roughly 2000°C. Hydrogen fuel can provide motive power for cars, boats and aeroplanes, portable fuel cell applications or stationary fuel cell applications, which can power an electric motor. Hydrogen:
The best green technologies in cars Electric motors: ,[object Object],3.   They are generally powered by on-board battery packs, and as such are  battery electric vehicles (BEVs) . Other on-board energy storage techniques that are expected to come into exercise in the future include  ultra capacitors, fuel cells, and a spinning flywheel  which stores kinetic energy.
Since the electric motor method requires electricity, we can get electricity from the hydrogen technique. The electricity from the hydrogen technique can be used to propel make the electric motor move. When the electric motor moves, the car can move too! This  combination of methods do not requires petrol, and also not complicated and expensive.  In this way, we will not pollute the environment. And even when we are getting the electricity from the hydrogen technique, only  nitrogen oxides is produced, and not other harmful substances. Conclusion: Conclusion

Once manufactured it is an energy carrier (i.e. a store for energy first generated by other means). The energy is eventually delivered as heat when the hydrogen is burned. The heat in a hydrogen flame is a radiant emission from the newly formed water molecules. The water molecules are in an excited state on initial formation and then transition to a ground state, the transition unleashing thermal radiation. When burning in air, the temperature is roughly 2000°C.   • 8. Since the electric motor method requires electricity, we can get electricity from the hydrogen technique. The electricity from the hydrogen technique can be used to propel make the electric motor move. When the electric motor moves, the car can move too! This combination of methods do not requires petrol, and also not complicated and expensive. In this way, we will not pollute the environment.
