My most recent conceptual project, done with a partner in studio, Hannah Fellers. It was completed in a week and a half for a Sustainable Design Competition. It is a Glam Cocktail Lounge connected to the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
2. Divine Degree is an all American fine dining and night life experience. This cocktail lounge styled restaurant embraces the city of the “Fabulous Las Vegas” and all of the cliches that come with it. This city shows
a contrast of the two sides everyone encompasses as human beings: saint or sinner; angel or devil; dark or light; day or night. This restaurant will enhance these opposite personalities and create an atmosphere
that caters to both styles. This space will also enlighten people on how they might even experience these differing personailities at the same time. This space will create a relatable human experience, not only
through its great food and thriving livliness, but through the message it sends through the design intent and the desires it places upon people to know themselves deeper.
Glamorous interior design is inspired by art deco, mid-century modern, and industrial styles. It gives a hotel, restaurant, or lounge an ultra-elegant glow, whether you use luxe, high-end pieces dripping with crystals
or wildly eccentric feathers straight off a Vegas showgirl. That’s the beauty of glamorous interiors: They’re easily tailored to fit various styles, from dramatic rockstar to old-world diva. Glam design is synonymous
with saturated jewel tones, mirrors, eclectic figurines, metallics, richly tufted furniture, patterned wallpaper, and anything fancy. Maximalism is the keyword. Basically, if it’s opulent, stunning, or sparkling, it’s glam!
It is plush. Elaborate. Indulgent. How perfect for a restaurant to be indulgent. For artwork and tasteful accents: A black-and-white glamor shot of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, or Audrey Hepburn in a gilded
frame provides an effortless way to wink at the old greats without going full Madame Tussaud. Or an framed old Vogue cover. To keep it fresh and trendy we will have metallics and tasteful splashes of the latest
Pantone shade. Right now, amethyst purple is it.
Several key ingredients for the “retro-glam” style might be plush or sheepskin rugs, a crushed velvet armchair or metal-studded wingback, and anything gold or silver, like a glass coffee table with metallic edges,
and the iconic arc lamp. Glamorous Moroccan designs from poufs to wallpaper are exotic, refined, and extremely on-trend right now everywhere from cocktail lounges to cafes. This design will be trendy and
create a space that becomes one of THE places to be while on your trip to America’s favorite, Las Vegas.

I am a senior in the interior design program at Virginia Tech. I was accepted early decision into the college of
architecture + design and have enjoyed the entire program experience. I have studied abroad to Florence, Italy
with the interior design program before my junior year. I have always been inspired by those around me who were
interior designers and learned even more about design and the affects it has on everyone through my experiences
at Virginia Tech. I want to travel and continue to keep learning and building my portfolio, so I hope that I get a job that
allows me to have those opportunities. I am not set on a specific location, but I am open to wherver life takes me.
I have made the Dean’s List for the past 5 semesters and had intern experience over the last two summers. I
interned at Renew For You Home Furnishings after my sophomore year and learned about the processes of
reusing and recyling furniture to give it new life and even a new function. I interned at Baskervill in Richmond,
Virginia the summer before my senior year and learned an immense amount of information about design in the
real world. I now am more excited for the real world and look forward to what the future holds.
