Related verse regarding the mosque term 9:18 Only he should visit or tend God's houses of worship who believes in God and the Last Day, and is constant in prayer, and spends in charity, and stands in awe of none but God: for [only such as] these may hope to be among the right-guided! إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ فَعَسَى أُوْلَـئِكَ أَن يَكُونُواْ مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA

4. Functions of Mosque; Mosque is a place for Ibadahor avenue for ritual functions. It is a symbol of unity among Muslim. It is a centre of Ummahdevelopment. Based on the migration of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W from Mecca to Medina in the year 622 C.E., the first thing He did was building a mosque. Mosque was built to develop Muslim community. 5. Later, the function of mosque broaden to the place for the formation of managements and administrations. After the demise of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, the effort to enlarge the mosque was still continued by His predecessor. 6. Whoever build the mosque for the willingness of God, God surely built a house for him in the heaven. Mosque also functions as aplace for seeking and spreading knowledge The examples of functioning mosques are; Medina, Iraq, Syam, Mesir, Andalusia which are now have become famous universities such as Al-Azharand Az-Zaitunah مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يَبْتَغِى بِهِ وَجْهَ اللهِ بَنَى الله ُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِى الْجَنَّةِ. 7. Government strategies for mosques in Malaysia: Mosque is a place for seeking knowledge for the communities rather than limited to ritual functions only. Mosque is a place of socialization and services especially for the unfortunates. Mosque is a place to unite both Muslims and Non-Muslims through activities that are to be conducted . As mentioned by Allah in SurahTawba verse 107 PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA

8. 9:107 AND [there are hypocrites] who have established a [separate] house of worship in order to create mischief, and to promote apostasy and disunity among the believers, and to provide an outpost for all who from the outset have been warring against God and His Apostle. And they will surely swear [to you, O believers], "We had but the best of intentions!" -the while God [Himself] bears witness that they are lying. وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ مَسْجِدًا ضِرَارًا وَكُفْرًا وَتَفْرِيقًا بَيْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِرْصَادًا لِّمَنْ حَارَبَ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَيَحْلِفَنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلاَّ الْحُسْنَى وَاللّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA

9. Mosque is a model of a wholesomeness institution. Based on the Hadith below; Narrated from Aisyah; Prophet asked Muslim to build mosques at regions that are clean and pure. "عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : أَمَرَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبِنَآءِ الْمَسَاجِدِ فِى الدُّوَرِ وَأَنْ تُنَظَّفَ وَتُطَيَّبَ.“ PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA

10. Conclusion: We must increase our knowledge and skills of mosque management. We should remember: وَالْعَصْرِ {1} إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ {2} إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواوَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ {3} 103:(1) CONSIDER the flight of time!. (2) Verily, man is bound to lose himself unless he be of those. (3) who attain to faith, and do good works, and enjoin upon one another the keeping to truth, and enjoin upon one another patience in adversity.
