with Landing Pages
Is the bounce rate of your landing page more
like a trampoline? If so, then you may want
to look at re-designing your landing page.
Since all the advertising, SEO and PPC
efforts in the world will not help you if
potential customers do not like your landing
page.
The landing page is a vital tool towards
getting sales. While some use the
homepage of their website, it is actually
better to create a specific sales or landing
page where customers who click the link
to your content will go. Landing pages
should be direct and work towards making
the sale.
What follows are a few proven tips to landing
more customers and lessening the bounce rate.
You will need to experiment in terms of your
marketing efforts, but the result will be well
worth it when customers stay and utilize your
landing page instead of bouncing away
somewhere else.
Big, Bold Headline
Having a bold, attention-getting headline may
seem a bit old-fashioned, but it's really the
only way to insure that you get the proper
notice from your customers. The headline
should be bold, but concise and present
what your landing page is all about. The
headline doesn't need to be overwhelming in
terms of size, but it does need to really stand
out.
Focus
Your landing page needs to
be focused on the product or
service that you are
advertising. There is no
room for other products or
services that might confuse
them. If you are bringing
customers to your landing
page for “widgets”, then
don't put any other products
or services on that page.
Cut to the Chase
Your landing page needs to be direct and
straightforward. You do not want to waste
the time of the customer, so get to the
point quickly and then elaborate.
Someone who is interested in what you
are selling will stay if they know what it is
about. All too often, landing pages do not
get to the heart of the matter quickly
enough which creates disinterest in the
potential customer who quickly leaves.
Clean up the Clutter
You should look over your entire landing
page and remove anything that isn't
necessary. You want to present your
information as clean as possible. This
means that items which distract from the
main point should be removed. Holding the
attention of your customers is paramount
to making the sale, so you only want your
landing page to reinforce the main
information that you are presenting.
Provide an Extra Bonus
Whether you are simply trying to lead capture
or make the sale, you can help seal the
deal by offering something extra that is
free. It can be a short report, perhaps even
a small, free eBook.
Whatever it is you are
offering for free, be sure
it is something useful to
the customer. This can
help you make the sale
or at least have them
more willing to sign up
for a newsletter.
