Project Principles
• Design in the browser
– All design was done direct in bootstrap,
• Build in the CMS
– Where possible everything was done directly in
Umbraco first time
• Write on the site
– All content was put onto what would become the
live site

• Single install multiple developers
• Content team on the same install at the same
time
• Design team designing over the top of it all
• Project lead poking around causing trouble.

Pitfalls
• Large amount of content going in fast when
design or function wasn’t concrete
• Agile means things evolve as we go
• Lots of people working on the same bit of the
site at the same time

File versioning
• copies and archives of db ‘bits’ and files
• Means that overwriting isn’t the end of the
world.
• It’s also something that doesn’t actually
happen that much
• It happened twice.
