           is Googled
         • You control what information – text, links, and
           images – appears
         • You already have a Profile if you have created

         • don’t enable the name link – i.e., using

           instead of http://google.com/profiles/stevegarfield
         • don’t upload a great headshot photo
         • don’t cross-link
         • use multiple versions of their names
         • don’t enable their profiles to be searched by their
           names

          How do I create my Profile?
         1.     Go to: http://google.com/profiles
         2.     Click quot;Create my profile”
         3.     Enter your Google user name and password
         4.     Fill out your first and last namel
         5.     Use the name most likely to generate search results, i.e., your resume name
         6.     Upload a photo to your profile by clicking quot;Change photoquot;
         7.     Complete your bio
         8.     Complete the section quot;A little personality”
         9.     Select the links you would like to display
         10.    Click “Create profile” to save your information
         11.    Click the blue quot;Add more info to my profile”
         12.    Select the contact information tab
         13.    Complete your contact information and save your changes
         14.    Select quot;Display my full name so I can be found in searchquot;
         15.    Verify your name
         16.    Google your name, and check out your profile

           people
         • For now, Profiles are U.S.-only
         • The 4 most complete profiles (with a
           “more” button) will be displayed for each
           name
         • If all of a name’s profiles are complete, the
           4 most popular (i.e., click-through rate) will
           be displayed

         • Know your competition – Google
           yourself, weekly
         • If necessary, consider using a more
           unique version of your name
         • Be consistent with your: name, tagline,
           messages, and keywords
         • Crosslink all of your sites/profiles
         • Publish!

Fill out your first and last namel 5. Use the name most likely to generate search results, i.e., your resume name 6. Upload a photo to your profile by clicking quot;Change photoquot; 7. Complete your bio 8. Complete the section quot;A little personality” 9. Select the links you would like to display 10. Click “Create profile” to save your information 11. Click the blue quot;Add more info to my profile” 12. Select the contact information tab 13. Complete your contact information and save your changes 14.
