HOW DO WE INTEGRATE THE USE OF OER INTO ONLINE COURSES? • Examples from Math Courses • Images • Video lectures • Differential Equations – lectures on particular topics on professor’s web page • Discrete Math, Real Analysis – Proofs examples uploaded to YouTube • Animations / Simulations • Calculus – projectile motion with calculations • Discrete Math – testing sorting methods • GenEd math – similar triangles, polygoncircle (limit) • Open access journal articles • Tutorial collections to support technology (multi-mode)

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE CHALLENGES FACED WITH USING OER? • Licensing can be complex • Links can go inactive • Need for vetting external OERs • Need strategy for using in courses • Monitor links • Track details of content, license, audience of OERs • Back-up plan for “lost” resources • Storage • Creating OER implies that an open site is available for others to access the resource
