Active participant in Yogi Divine Society a non-profit organization.
PHYSICAL THERAPY VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE (TOTAL: 260 hrs)
• Outpatient Orthopedics, India
120 hours of volunteer work experience at therapist-owned, private orthopedic physical
therapy practice. Responsible for treatment of adult patients and old age people under the
therapist instructions. Also helped with the documentation and data track related to
appointments. Got an opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary patient rounds with the
therapist. Also shadowed the therapist in different treatments such as acute neurological and
post-surgical patients, spinal cord injury, joint mobilization etc.
• Inpatient rehabilitation Centre, The medical resort, Houston, TX
80 hours of volunteer work experience at 85-90 bed inpatient rehabilitation facility.
Observed different types of treatments given to the patients by physical therapist and
occupational therapist providing comprehensive rehabilitation services for adults and
geriatric patients.
• Outpatient orthopedics, Texas Physical Therapy Specialists, Austin, TX
40 hours of volunteer work experience. Opportunity to observe the most eligible therapist
who is also the director of the facility. The facility is highly popular and it includes all kinds
of patients such as teenagers, adults, old age. It was the best place to learn and observe as it
provides aquatic therapy, hand therapy, manual therapy, orthopedics, spine care, sports
physical therapy, workplace injuries and many more.
• Outpatient pediatric therapy centre, OT Connections, Pflugerville, TX
21 hours of volunteer work experience. I am still continuing my volunteer work. The place
is helping me a lot in gaining knowledge and dealing with small kids as the facility is
dedicated to the rehabilitative needs of children from birth to certain age. I am learning
different innovative techniques to treat children while observing the therapist.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
• Effect of Edible oils on myelin formation through CDKAL1, and MAL genes expression
in Streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. Research is further carried out and finding for
submission.
