Dear Colleagues,
As a presenter at IDGA’s DoD/VA mHealth conference 2013, it is my pleasure to
invite you to join us this November in Washington, DC for a collaborative summit
dedicated to advancing and supporting mobile health initiatives in the
Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
Mobile healthcare offers the opportunity to do more and reach more people while
spending less; while the accessibility it provides serves to improve quality of care
for patients. Mobile technology offers a unique multifaceted solution in an era
when everyone is connected wirelessly. mHealth allows veterans to communicate
with their doctors from the comfort of their homes, physicians to monitor patients
with their mobile phones, and data to be transferred to garrisons around the
globe.
We cannot ignore that mobile health does come with its challenges, so we will use
this conference as a platform to provide solutions for long term mHealth strategies.
If medical data is to be accessed and transferred via mobile devices, it’s imperative
medical professionals have the required technology and the network infrastructure
to support it. And if patients are able to SMS their physicians, it’s absolutely
necessary for that information to remain secure.
DoD/VA mHealth not only focuses on the solutions mHealth will provide, but also
how to support those solutions through sustainable and secure network
infrastructure. This event will ensure you’re up to date on the latest regulations
and guidelines for mobile medical technology, feature experts on mobile networks
and medical security, and showcase the best solutions mHealth will offer to the
DoD and VA.
We look forward to collaborating with you on the future of mobile health in
November.
Kind regards,
Alain B. Labrique

this regulatory effort will be part of the RMF. This Focus Day Session will
