The Terenure Enterprise Centre was established in 1984 to provide support and training to unemployed people in the local area. It offers incubation space, virtual office services, computer and business training, and business mentoring. The center is partially funded by Pobal and through rental income. The Active Senior IT Society was established in 2006 under the Terenure Enterprise Centre to provide IT training to older adults. It currently has over 300 members. Training includes courses on various IT topics like email, digital photography, and Microsoft Office. The society aims to empower older adults through the use of special interest groups and shorter workshop programs.
