resent the connection between the chaos that the city represents and the instinctive goal within us all to achieve inner peace and serenity. the
re-ligare institute guides you through this inner journey. visitors enter the institute to partake in civic activities such as eating, shopping, and
taking in a lecture or performance. the city in its very nature is a social setting; there is constant interaction amongst people, however this inter-
action is often very impersonal and sometimes even hostile. the re-ligare institute attempts to promote positive social interaction with its series
of large social gardens. the institute also provides various physical activities, from swimming to weight lifting, giving people the opportunity to
keep their body in the best shape possible. members can learn new skills in classes, read in the library, or listen to live music, all of which im-
proves psychological wellbeing. ne-tuning the health of the spirit is perhaps the most diffcult obstacle preventing tranquility. yet once a person
achieves this, their transition from chaos to inner peace is complete. the re-ligare institute places this epitome of overall health in its own space
at the top of a tower with an accompanying silent garden where one can connect with the city, nature, and the spirit in one fell swoop. there are
also spaces reserved for personal reeection, prayer, meditation, and other soul-cleansing activities. the re-ligare institute is a transitional jour-
ney ascending from the ways of the city â chaos, isolation, business, and consumerism â to the ways serenity â inner peace, health, fellowship,
and knowledge.
