6. Early life Dame Edna Everage was born on about the 17th of February 1938, in Moonee Ponds, a Melbourne suburb. When she first started her career she was a housewife then an investigative journalist, social anthropologist, talk show host, swami, children's book illustrator, spin doctor, Icon, Housewife Superstar, and more recently, Megastar. She is also a noted actress. Now she is a comedian.
