2. Aventura
Aventura was a Bachata group from
New York.
They we’re formed in 1994 by Anthony
‘Romeo’ Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny
Santos and Max Santos. They were
raised in the Bronx however their
families are from the Dominican
Republic.
The group made their big outbreak in
1999 by the group taking the risk by
taking the traditional bachata rhythm
and bonding it with a more hiphop, R&B style and it worked better than
expected.
Ever since they have released 11
albums, 3 of these albums were
recorded live in show like the one that
was sold out in Madison Square garden
in 2007.
In 2011 the group decided to break
apart and go their separate ways.
According to the lead singer Romeo
Santos the group is on pause to do
Prince Royce
Geoffrey Royce Rojas also known by his
stage name ‘Prince Royce’ was born on
May 11, 1989 and raised in Bronx, New
York.
He is an American singer-songwriter
that sings and composes Bachata, Latin
Pop, R&B.
Later on in life he took the interest in
poetry and music then by the age of 19
he met Andres Hidalgo who became his
manager then was later introduced to
Sergio George who immediately signed
him to his label after hearing three of his
demos (Top Stop Records).
Later on he released 2 songs that
reached #1 on both Billboard’s tropical
charts and on the Hot Latin Songs chart.
He’s also released 4 albums, ‘Prince
Royce’ that reached a 3x Platinum
certification, Phase II that also reached
a Platinum certification, ‘#1’s’ and
recently he’s released ‘Soy El Mismo’.
Due to it being recently released no
certifications have been given however I
suspect great things from the album as
I’ve heard it myself.
3. Daddy Yankee
Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez also known
as ‘Daddy Yankee’ is a Puerto Dominican
reggaeton rapper, songwriter and recording
artist.
RKM & Ken-Y
Jose Nieves (RKM) and Kenny Ruben
(Ken-Y) are from Puerto Rico duo that sing
bachata, reggaeton, pop and tropical.
While experimenting with his music he was
shot causing him to take a break from
studio recording however he credits the
accident as it allowed him to focus on his
own music career and since then he has
been able to sell 10 million albums.
Their duo career started when the they
sang at a sweet 16th party and public
events and soon went on to record their
music. Nicky Jam gave the due a chance to
make an appearance his album and on
some TV shows. Soon both of their singles
were instant hits around Latin America.
Apart from being a reggaeton rapper he
also does hip-hop, urban dance, merengue
and dancehall.
They have been signed to 3 record labels;
Pina, universal Music Latino and Machete
Music.
He has released 13 albums and have all
gotten very positive feedback from critics
and his fans.
The duo has released 8 albums, 5 of which
were recorded while performing a live
concert and have sold millions.
As well has rapping and songwriting
Ramón also took acting into his career. He
has appeard in 2 Spanish films ‘Vampiros’
and ‘ Talento de Barrio’ and ahs also
