CRICKET AUSTRALIA CONNECTS WITH THEIR FANS IN
A PERSONALISED WAY
Melbourne, Australia, February 25th 2008 – My Heroes, the Australian web-based business
which connects children with their sporting heroes in a personalised way is pleased to announce
they have launched Cricket Australia onto their website.
The concept allows you to go online and select your quality hero image, input your name (or your
recipients name) and a personalised motivational message which becomes your unique, highly
valued cricket hero product.
“We are delighted by the prospect of offering an inspirational and affordable product to cricket
fans that depict Australian cricketers as their heroes. This unique offering not only provides
personalisation but can be used as a motivational tool to encourage young cricketers to one day
wear the baggy green,” said David Steinhardt, Licensing Manager, Cricket Australia.
The cricketers who are involved with My Heroes include, Ricky Ponting, Brett Lee, Matthew
Hayden, Michael Clarke and Michael Hussey, and should prove popular with the kids who are
playing the game and those grown ups who wish they still were.
“Every child should have a hero and someone they look up to and we believe that through our
unique concept and product offering, we will encourage and inspire children to aim high and
achieve great things at any level of their chosen sport,” said Jon Field, Managing Director
of My Heroes.
“We are excited to have Cricket Australia as part of My Heroes and we look forward to
connecting their “grass roots” supporters with the players in a more personalised way and
providing them with lasting enjoyment when they look at their product from their hero,”
continued Field.
“Since launching our concept there have been some fantastic responses from children who have
viewed our website or have received our products, most of them can’t believe that their sporting
hero knows who they are or has sent them a special message,” concluded Field.
Cricket Australia joins other leading sporting organisations on the My Heroes website including,
Swimming Australia and Athletics Australia and they will be announcing the inclusion and
availability of further sports over the next few months.
The exclusive range of My Heroes products (featuring the signatures of the cricket players)
include A3 & A4 prints, birthday cards and special occasion cards and can be viewed and ordered
by heading to the Cricket Australia website – www.cricket.com.au or the My Heroes website –
