I do not believe in a fate that falls on men however they act;but I do believe in a fate that falls on them unless they act.- Buddha
The love of our neighbor,in all its fullness, simply means being able to say,"What are you going through?"... and mean it.- Simone WeilEmpathy is the desire to understand what another is going through.Compassion is looking them in the eye,and going through it...WITH them.Going to church, in and of itself, is neither of those. In fact, the new Mega Churches that pack in thousands for a service...and whom attract lots of younger church goers...do LESS volunteering and LESS giving than regular church goers. And ultimately, church aught to be a gathering place to...DO COMMUNITY SERVICE!However, in this modern age of entertainment...Church has become more of a place to MASTURBATE our egos.meaning...church more often than not, makes you feel as though you are Doing Good...but in actuality... it is just your ego;that is feeling good. Does anyone really believe that god needs worshipping?Or that the 'Lord Jesus' wants to hear about how much you love him? NO! or at least... i hope not. For the social movement that 'Jesus the Jew' was trying to lead...FAILED MISERABLY!And the remnants of that social movement, have been so corrupted by the ego of mankind, that the original intent has been all but completely lost. COMPASSION! or as Tony Robbins says; THE ART OF FULFILLMENT!please watch this short 20 min. video by Tony Robbins: As Tony talked about... OUR focus is the primary motivator in our lives. And the successful achievement of that focus is dependent upon:the alignment of our emotions...into a PASSIONATE PURPOSE for the greater good!WHILE being RESOURCEFUL and PERSEVERING!Once we decide WHAT we want...and choose WHY we want it...then we MUST BE OPEN to HOW we receive it.meaning, FULFILLMENT within the dichotomous nature of life...requires us to be CERTAIN of our choice...while understanding that the future UNCERTAINTY...is the NECESSARY creative tension. In addition, working towards an altruistic passion...gives us the CONNECTION of significance...while ENABLING us to evolve...and contribute beyond ourselves!
It is an unfortunate human failing, that a full pocketbook often groans;more loudly than an empty stomach. - Franklin D. Roosevelt
ife is relationships; the rest is just details. - Gary SmalleySo, life is relationships. Our relationship with the Earth. Our relationship with our Family. Our relationship with our Country. Our relationship with Humanity on Earth. Our relationship with the Animal Kingdom. Our relationship with Food , Sex, Drugs, Music, and so on...Our relationship with the Multi-dimensional Multi-verse (god/life/us).Life is a relationship. So, to be good at life... is to be good at relationships.So...HOW can I be good at relationships...if others aren't good at relationships?Hmmm... the rest of these postings explains all that pretty well...even if I say so myself. But here is some cold comfort:A garden is always a series of losses...set against a few triumphs; like life itself. - May SartonSo tend to your garden... tend to your life... for... The good life is inspired by love and guided by knowledge. - Bertrand RussellAnd as fully explained throughout this discourse:And for those of us who seek safety, security, survival...OVER LIVING LIFE... Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. - Helen KellerSO LET US LIVE LIFE AS AN ADVENTURE!!!LET US LIVE LIFE TO ITS FULLEST! And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count...It's the life in your years. - Abraham Lincoln
Conscience is our magnetic compass; reason our chart.- Joseph CookI have lived an extraordinary life... full of great pain and great joy.And quite often, I find myself attempting to explain the reasons for this...only to discover that there are multiple reasons...with some reasons weighted more heavily than other reasons. In other words... the reasoning has great depth and complexity. What is reasoning except the ANSWER TO why? My favorite question! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY!The problem I have with reasoning...is that it always seems to be given...AFTER THE FACT!!!meaning... we often operate on intuition & heart...without understanding the reasons why... until after.so let's recognize the following truism:The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant, and has forgotten the gift. - Albert EinsteinYes, the gift of intuition and heart - this is the answer to many WHY's.Since I often rely on my intuition... I have often been called insane.I have been labeled... by my so called friends and loved ones...many things... BIPOLAR Disorder is one...Attention Deficit Disorder is another...Narcissistic Personality Disorder; by yet another...and recently... Post Traumatic Stress Disorder...that's without mentioning Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,AGORAPHOBIA, and just plain CRAZY!I GOT IT ALL!! ... YEAH BABY!!!(I always told everyone I would have everything.)and as much as it bothered me... I accepted these judgments. Because I knew the truth. We know the truth, not only by the reason, but also by the heart. - Blaise Pascal AND I knew the reasons. for I was hungry for love.and nothing would stop me from finding the love within. NO-THING.
