Erasmus+, 2014 -2020
Erasmus+, the new deal for sustainable Lifelong Learning,

Erasmus+ is the new programme proposed by the European Commission for education,
training, youth and sport with a budget of €14.7 billion for the period 2014-2020.

Erasmus+ will start on 1 January 2014 and will continue to the end of 2020 as the ideal
of Lifelong Learning.

There are three main types of action proposed:
- Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals
- Key Action 2: Co-operation for Innovation and Good Practices
- Key Action 3: Support for Policy Reform
The Key Action 1 and the Key Action 2 will be managed by the UK National Agency which consists of British Council and Ecorys.
The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is responsible for centralised actions.
The previous life long learning programmes will be streamlined in a new structure and will be
based on three Key Actions and two other activities: Jean Monnet and sport.

Erasmus Plus will offer two completely new elements:
1. Loan guarantee scheme for Master’s degree students
2. Knowledge alliances & Sector skills alliances
The Key Action 1 is for individuals, however, only through organisations, to strengthen cooperation, their
skills, enhance their employability and gain culture awareness. The learners and staff will be able to travel to
another participating country to study, work, teach, train and develop professional skills and key competences.
The target groups of this programme is for learners and young people and staff and youth workers. Activities
are dependent on the fields targeted by the project.
The Key Action 2 is about enabling organisations to work better together, share and/or implement
innovative practices. The projects will focus on sectoral and cross-sectoral co-operation with industry.
The call for applications to be made in 2014 is expected to be published in mid December 2013.
All organisations will need to be registered on the European Commission’s online registration
facility before applications can be started. This is KA2 form.

The deadline for application is mid March 2014.
The proposed indicative deadlines (not fixed!)
- Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals, 17.3.2014
-Key Action 2: Co-operation for Innovation and Good Practices, 17.3.2014 or 30.4.2014

Robinson MA (Oxon) dedicated her first chapter to him 26 years ago in The
Sisters of Henry VIII: The Tumultuous Lives of Margaret of Scotland and Mary
of France
Erasmus wrote much and his works exploded the market of the printed
written word through his Lutheran contacts in Switzerland. Shakespeare
quoted him in his plays. It was Erasmus’ Lutheran friends who published and
printed the writing of Krzysztof Kopernicus not the Catholic Church. Erasmus’
writings advise against war, greed, gluttony and vanity. Whatever their
religion, all leaders, managers and entrepreneurs should learn from his
teachings; what was good then is still good today and the future.

  • 2. Erasmus+, 2014 -2020 Erasmus+, the new deal for sustainable Lifelong Learning, by Joanna Pinewood Education Team 10.12.2013, London
  • 3. Erasmus+ is the new programme proposed by the European Commission for education, training, youth and sport with a budget of €14.7 billion for the period 2014-2020. Erasmus+ will start on 1 January 2014 and will continue to the end of 2020 as the ideal of Lifelong Learning. There are three main types of action proposed: - Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals - Key Action 2: Co-operation for Innovation and Good Practices - Key Action 3: Support for Policy Reform The Key Action 1 and the Key Action 2 will be managed by the UK National Agency which consists of British Council and Ecorys. The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is responsible for centralised actions.
  • 4. The previous life long learning programmes will be streamlined in a new structure and will be based on three Key Actions and two other activities: Jean Monnet and sport. Erasmus Plus will offer two completely new elements: 1. Loan guarantee scheme for Master’s degree students 2. Knowledge alliances & Sector skills alliances
  • 5. The Key Action 1 is for individuals, however, only through organisations, to strengthen cooperation, their skills, enhance their employability and gain culture awareness. The learners and staff will be able to travel to another participating country to study, work, teach, train and develop professional skills and key competences. The target groups of this programme is for learners and young people and staff and youth workers. Activities are dependent on the fields targeted by the project.
  • 6. The Key Action 2 is about enabling organisations to work better together, share and/or implement innovative practices. The projects will focus on sectoral and cross-sectoral co-operation with industry.
  • 7. The call for applications to be made in 2014 is expected to be published in mid December 2013. All organisations will need to be registered on the European Commission’s online registration facility before applications can be started. This is KA2 form. The deadline for application is mid March 2014. He advised world leaders 500 years ago, our Maria Perry Robinson MA (Oxon) dedicated her first chapter to him 26 years ago in The Sisters of Henry VIII: The Tumultuous Lives of Margaret of Scotland and Mary of France Erasmus wrote much and his works exploded the market of the printed written word through his Lutheran contacts in Switzerland. Shakespeare quoted him in his plays. It was Erasmus’ Lutheran friends who published and printed the writing of Krzysztof Kopernicus not the Catholic Church. Erasmus’ writings advise against war, greed, gluttony and vanity. Whatever their religion, all leaders, managers and entrepreneurs should learn from his teachings; what was good then is still good today and the future.
