King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB)
Established by a Royal Decree in 1999, KADDB is the Jordanian research and development organization
created to provide a one-stop solution for the supply of defence and commercial equipment. As an
independent Governmental military-civilian agency existing within the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), KADDB
is tasked with operating to best business practices with predetermined performance targets and is financed
through the defence vote as well as by income earned from the sale of technology, products and services.
KADDB is an indigenous, self-sufficient and commercially viable research and development organization which acts as a catalyst within Jordan
for the design and manufacture of defence and commercial equipment and services, intended for use by JAF and for the civilian and military
export markets.
In 2010, KADDB launched the KADDB Investment Group to act as the commercial arm for the Bureau aiming at establishing new businesses in
the Defense, security and Automotive industries along with all services that would compliment these industries.

With ongoing procurements and upgrades, militaries in the Middle East have some of the world’s most sophisticated artillery equipment available at
their disposal. However, to fully utilise this equipment, it is critical that the new acquisitions are successfully integrated with existing platforms and
systems, that training and development is of the highest possible level and that maintenance is carried out on an ongoing basis.
In this workshop, Major General Chandra will draw on his considerable experiences as the Additional Director General for Equipment Management in
the Indian Army to work through these complex issues and challenges.
Issues to be discussed will include:
Implementing concepts of through-life capability management to maximise the life-cycle of your artillery systems
Successfully integrating newly acquired systems with existing legacy systems
Training and development for effective maintenance
Through interactive discussions, exercises and case studies, delegates attending this workshop will take away
a detailed insight into how they can utilise all of the resources available to them – new acquisitions, legacy platforms
and systems and human resources – to develop and maintain the best possible artillery forces.
