Let’s Build theWorld
Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers started as a small family-run
company in British Columbia, Canada. We conducted our
first unreserved auction in 1958 and our first major heavy
equipment auction in 1963. For many equipment owners,
our method of selling was new and unusual. It was also
easy, fair and rewarding. The more people we helped on
the path to success, the more our auctions and our com-
pany grew.
Today Ritchie Bros. is the world’s largest auctioneer of
equipment and trucks, with a global network of first-class
auction sites and customers all over the world. And we do
a lot more than auctions.
Every day, all over the world, tens of thousands of peo-
ple find, inspect, buy, finance, protect, ship, appraise,
refurbish or sell equipment through Ritchie Bros. We’re
a full-service company – and we’re committed to deliv-
ering solutions that make it easy for you to buy and sell
equipment with confidence. When you succeed, we’ve
succeeded.
Ritchie Bros.Auctioneers
Building Success
“I’ve bought lots of equipment – and I’ve sold lots
of equipment, and Ritchie Bros. is the best in the world.
If you want your company to do well, you go to Ritchie Bros.”
Camille Dionne – Québec, Canada
A lot has changed at Ritchie Bros. since 1958 – and a lot
has stayed the same. All of our auctions are still unre-
served and open to the public. We’re still recognized for
being fair, honest and professional. And we always go
above and beyond for our customers. Whether you need
to buy one truck or sell a whole fleet of equipment, we’re
here to help.

Ritchie Bros. auction today
We have four core values at Ritchie Bros., starting with
the most important:
1. It’s all about our customers
2. We do what is right
3. We are one team
4. We have fun
Our business is built on relationships. We take the time to
get to know our customers and understand their needs,
then work hard to provide options and services to meet
their goals.
Our customers come to us for information, advice and
assistance, not just equipment; over time, many become
friends. Your Ritchie Bros. representative can be a valu-
able resource, your connection to the global equipment
marketplace. We hope they become your trusted advisor,
and, even better, your friend.
Our Customers
Building Relationships
Your Ritchie Bros. representative is supported by a team
of professionals all focused on the same goal: making
your auction experience easy, rewarding and enjoyable.
Whether you’re buying or selling, we do whatever it takes
to make sure you have everything you need – including
more time to focus on your business.
Together, we’re proud to help people working in the
construction, transportation, farming, mining, forest-
ry, petroleum, material handling and other industries
around the world. Some of our customers own huge fleets
of equipment, others just one or two pieces. We also help
fleet managers, finance companies, dealers, rental com-
panies and government agencies. Our customers are
people like you.
“It’s more than just business,
with Ritchie Bros. It’s a partnership.”
Cindy Taylor – Utah, USA
There’s nothing in the world like a Ritchie Bros. auction
– the yard full of equipment, the live bidding action, the
excitement in the air. Over the years our auctions have
become industry events, attracting huge crowds from
near and far. People come from all over the world to in-
spect the machines, see what’s happening in the market,
connect with their peers – and of course buy equipment.
Every Ritchie Bros. auction is strictly unreserved. That
means there are no minimum bids or reserve prices and
sellers can’t bid on or buy back their own equipment. At
our auctions, every item sells to a new owner for its true
market value on auction day.
People bid with confidence at Ritchie Bros. auctions
knowing that every bid is legitimate, every price is fair
and every item will be sold. Our commitment to unre-
served auctions is one reason our auctions attract so
many bidders from so many places, in person and online.

Building Excitement
“Unreserved is the only way to go. I know the gear’s
going to sell and the people who are there to buy
know it’s going to sell. Ritchie Bros. does right
by buyers and sellers.”
John Spadaro –Victoria,Australia
Anyone can buy at our auctions, and anyone can sell.
Ateveryauctionahugeselectionofequipmentfrommany

auctiondays,withbiddersparticipatinginperson,online
and by proxy.
We conduct live auctions at real locations so our custom-
ers can easily inspect, compare, buy and collect equip-
ment being sold by different owners. Similar items are
lined up together for easy comparison and made avail-
able to inspect for weeks before the auction. Many online
bidders come to the auction site before auction day and
inspect the equipment at their convenience.
We sell equipment of almost every type from almost every
industry. We search everything for liens before auction
day, so our customers know they’re bidding on equip-
ment they can put straight to work. The whole process
is fast, easy and efficient for both buyers and sellers.
Each year, Ritchie Bros. conducts regular auctions at
more than 40 auction sites plus dozens of auctions
at temporary sites. At every auction we line up the equip-
ment for inspection, give our customers a permanent
or temporary auction theater where they can enjoy the
auction, and bring in a team of knowledgeable, friendly
staff to make sure the event runs smoothly.
On auction day we drive mobile equipment over an ele-
vated ramp in front of a covered auction theater. You can
see the machines running, watch them sell and sit com-
fortably the whole time.
For the sale of hard-to-move items like cranes and trail-
ers, we take the auction out into the yard and sell each
item where it sits, or bring the items inside using our
Virtual Ramp. We project high-resolution photos onto
a large theater screen so you can stay out of the sun
(or snow) and still see exactly what you’re bidding on.
At our permanent sites we typically sell smaller items in
an online Timed Auction. Bidding is open for several days.

  • 6. There’s nothing in the world like a Ritchie Bros. auction – the yard full of equipment, the live bidding action, the excitement in the air. Over the years our auctions have become industry events, attracting huge crowds from near and far. People come from all over the world to in- spect the machines, see what’s happening in the market, connect with their peers – and of course buy equipment. Every Ritchie Bros. auction is strictly unreserved. That means there are no minimum bids or reserve prices and sellers can’t bid on or buy back their own equipment. At our auctions, every item sells to a new owner for its true market value on auction day. People bid with confidence at Ritchie Bros. auctions knowing that every bid is legitimate, every price is fair and every item will be sold. Our commitment to unre- served auctions is one reason our auctions attract so many bidders from so many places, in person and online. OurAuctions Building Excitement “Unreserved is the only way to go. I know the gear’s going to sell and the people who are there to buy know it’s going to sell. Ritchie Bros. does right by buyers and sellers.” John Spadaro –Victoria,Australia
  • 7. Anyone can buy at our auctions, and anyone can sell. Ateveryauctionahugeselectionofequipmentfrommany owners is displayed and then sold over one, two or more auctiondays, withbiddersparticipatinginperson, online and by proxy. We conduct live auctions at real locations so our custom- ers can easily inspect, compare, buy and collect equip- ment being sold by different owners. Similar items are lined up together for easy comparison and made avail- able to inspect for weeks before the auction. Many online bidders come to the auction site before auction day and inspect the equipment at their convenience. We sell equipment of almost every type from almost every industry. We search everything for liens before auction day, so our customers know they’re bidding on equip- ment they can put straight to work. The whole process is fast, easy and efficient for both buyers and sellers.
  • 8. Each year, Ritchie Bros. conducts regular auctions at more than 40 auction sites plus dozens of auctions at temporary sites. At every auction we line up the equip- ment for inspection, give our customers a permanent or temporary auction theater where they can enjoy the auction, and bring in a team of knowledgeable, friendly staff to make sure the event runs smoothly. On auction day we drive mobile equipment over an ele- vated ramp in front of a covered auction theater. You can see the machines running, watch them sell and sit com- fortably the whole time. For the sale of hard-to-move items like cranes and trail- ers, we take the auction out into the yard and sell each item where it sits, or bring the items inside using our Virtual Ramp. We project high-resolution photos onto a large theater screen so you can stay out of the sun (or snow) and still see exactly what you’re bidding on. At our permanent sites we typically sell smaller items in an online Timed Auction. Bidding is open for several days.
