- 18. Captivate allows you to create application simulations and PowerPoint presentations with interactive capabilities such as branching scenarios, and quizzes. Camtasia records video and audio from computer screens and cameras, and imports media (video and audio) to edit and create video and audio files. They both use features to highlight the action, add interactivity, and include accessibility.

- 20. • NTSC aspect ratio is 4:3 (what we’ve switched from) • HD/widescreen is 16:9 (what we’ve switched to) • 16:9 now common for YouTube use, MP4 file type at various resolutions • 320 x 240 is about 1/10th of desktop size • Record at larger, scalable size to allow for zooming • Camtasia & Captivate offer common/current record presets

- Extras are some fun additional things and a chance for us to take a break from our work and look at some other useful tools.Our class is small which might mean we zip through the work a lot faster. I’ll have to gauge our course speed as we go and we’ll sort it all out as we go. If there are things you’re interested in spending some time on from the extras, or maybe something else, let me know.If you have real-life projects you want to work on in the class, it will be a great opportunity for you to do them.

Used to have Pro version for $15 with MP4 movies, but dropped.uTIPu – FLV filesProblem with these is that FLV/SWF is dying. The new version enhances editing and output for a better & faster editing experience and higher quality output options.Also in the upgrade is a change in the hotkeys to simplify editing. Hotkeys are key commands that are menu item equivalents (like Control+X to Cut). Hotkeys can reduce editing time be 30%. A lot of people don’t gravitate towards key commands, but they speed up all computer time in all programs.
- You want the free player piece only. Don’t have to buy. The company’s website sometimes buries the free player. Searching the Windows site can be more productive.
