CAIMS Computer-Assisted Instructional Materials In English IV
The Definitely Vast World of
OoohHh!!! Hey guys!!! It’s nice to be flying!!! But… its nicer to be learning!!! Come, join me as I fly to the world of indefinite pronouns!!
“ I want nobody, nobody but you…” Everyone knows this song from the Wonder Girls. Examining the sentence, do you know what part of speech does “nobody” belongs? Well, if you don’t know yet, just explore this instructional material to answer that question and discover nobody’s other sisters and brothers.
I'm sure that you will learn a lot about indefinite pronouns and how to use it properly as you finish this instructional material. Be ready for your main objective because later on, you will make your own essay. Are you ready to take your goal?
But…hmmm…before anything else… Let me first measure your schema on indefinite pronouns by filling in the blanks on the sentences to make a good paragraph. Ready?!?
Do you know that our body bears a lot of amazing facts? Well, some of those facts ( is , are ) mentioned here and may shake you. In just one day, a human sheds 10 million skin flakes which accounts up to two kilograms a year. Every square inch of our body ( has , have ) 19,000,000 skin cells. The small intestine of our body measures two inches around and six meters long. Everybody ( make , makes ) anywhere one to three pints of saliva every 24 hours. All of the same average women ( has , have ) 17 square feet of skin and adds up to 18.5 sq. ft. during her ninth month of pregnancy. And you won’t believe it. Both human and a chimpanzee ( has , have ) as many hairs on the skin. You just don’t see them because most of our hairs (is, are) too fine and too light to be noticed. How amazing is the chimpanzee!!! Oh, I mean human!!! Click on the correct verb that agrees with its subject.
Hmmm… with your score in the pre-test, I think you need to take some tour on this instructional material about indefinite pronouns… And now fasten your seatbelt as we travel the word of indefinite pronouns… I am Indefinite Pooh and I will be your tour guide.
Do you know what are indefinite pronouns? Indefinite pronouns are pronouns that refer to unnamed people or things. They refer to persons, places or things that are unspecified, unknown or unrevealed. Because indefinite pronouns do not refer to specific nouns, their antecedents are not given. Example: Someone knocked on the door of the cabin.
Like any other parts of speech, indefinite pronouns must be also used following the Subject-Verb Agreement. Click on the pictures to reveal the rules.
With your knowledge of the correct usage on indefinite pronouns, now it’s time for you to apply what you have learned… Click me to reveal your first task…
You have successfully finished the first task by choosing the correct indefinite pronoun in a sentence. Now, its time for you to try another task in a paragraph and this is your second task. Click me again for your second task…
You have successfully finished the two tasks of this instructional material. Now, that you’ve already mastered choosing the right indefinite pronoun or the right verb, let's proceed to your last task to evaluate if you really understand the topic. Click me again for your third task…
You have successfully finished the three tasks to master the correct usage of indefinite pronouns. Now it’s time for you to do your main objective which is to make your own composition using the indefinite pronouns correctly. Ready?!?
Check your answers to the tasks you’ve done. Click me to reveal the answer key. Did you got a perfect score?
You have successfully finished this instructional material about indefinite pronouns!!! I hope you will treasure what you have learned with it forever!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Oh! It’s time for me to sleep… I’ve got tired with our tour but it’s okay because I’ve helped you learn about indefinite pronouns… See you next time!!!

The indefinite pronouns few , many , both , and several take a plural verb. Example: Both are expensive, I won’t buy them. RULE 2
RULE 3 prepositional phrase The indefinite pronouns some , none , most , and all can take either a singular or a plural verb. Click on the correct verb inside the parentheses on the paragraph. Christmas is fast approaching. Everyone ( is , are ) very excited for the holiday. Maybe, many ( is , are ) excited of Christmas because they receive gifts. But aside from this, there are still more meaningful reasons why we should celebrate Christmas. Some of those reasons ( is , are ) that in this time, our Savior Jesus Christ was born. He showed us humbleness as He was born in a manger and no one ( was , were ) there to help His family. Another thing is that it is the time of happiness, forgiveness, and most of all, it is also the time of charity especially that many of our fellowmen ( is , are ) in need of our help. Task 2
