4. Who, How, When & Why
“We are a small team based in New York City, and we've been
working on and thinking about news applications for awhile now.
Before we acquired Digg, we launched products for email, iPad,
and iPhone out of a startup called News.me. Digg was originally
founded in 2004, but in the summer of 2012, we rebuilt it from
scratch in six weeks. You can read more about that here.”

Digg delivers the most interesting and talked about stories on the Internet right now. The Internet is full of great stories, and Digg helps you find, read, and share the very best ones. It’s simple and it’s everywhere: visit Digg on the web, find it on your iPhone, or get the best of Digg delivered to your inbox with The Daily Digg.
Why did you acquire Digg? When it launched in 2004, Digg was way ahead of its time. It illustrated a fact that, since then, Facebook and Twitter have driven home: that readers of news no longer just read, they participate; they no longer just consume, they create; that the traditional roles of the editor can be dispersed and democratized. Digg was new and it was different, and it was like nothing that had come before.“Digg was a pioneer that changed the media landscape not by creating anything, but instead by putting the people in charge of what was media. Like Flickr, it was a company that opened our eyes to the potential of the social web. It also reminded us that links are and will always be the atomic unit of the web…”— Om Malik, GigaOm
1.Being digg effected will probably bring you some new incoming links from sites that found your content interesting. Getting incoming links is a great way to increase your pagerank.2.After being dugg you will notice an increase in your every-day site visits and your feed subscribers. Visits will not be so many as the day you got dugg, but will be more than before the digg effect.3.Most of the times if a site becomes famous in Digg, soon becomes famous in other social media like del.icio.us
