To whom it may concern,
Jared Glass was recommended to me by his previous employer due to his high level of
expertise. I run a small animation and visual effects school and I needed a person who could
teach Python Programming to 3D artists.
I sent word out to the community and his name came up time and again. A number of years
ago he was a student at my school so it was great to be able to welcome him back as a
lecturer.
The students who are now in their 4th year are responding very well to his methods,
personality and instruction. He is clear and concise and he can relate to their experience
since he has been in both the creative and the technical sides of the industry.
His lessons are well prepared; the techniques are a mixture of his experience problem solving
and his focused approach to creating the best syllabus for the subject. He is dedicated to
delivering a good course and allowing for the students to understand the material and why it
is vital to their careers in the Visual Effects Industry.
In terms of why I am recommending Jared, I have been a course co-ordinator and lecturer for
the last 5 years. I have in that time worked through the Certified Technical Trainers course
and the Autodesk Certified Instructors program.
Having worked on programming languages at university while studying Interactive Design and
through my career in Graphic and Web Design where understanding programming is a huge
benefit and then into the 3D world where very few artists understand just how much time can
be saved through automating their own processes, I created the 4th year course.
Although I can understand the basics of programming I needed someone who really
understood it and had worked with it on a professional pipeline. There are not many people in
Cape Town or in South Africa who have worked on a 3D animated feature film and have a
background in 3D as an artist. Jared has these credentials and is a very motivated person.
2. Unfortunately at this point I am unable to keep Jared employed full time as my course only
calls for a module on programming. I would like to bring him in to do more modules at a later
stage and plan to.
He is a great person, a good teacher and any business would be lucky to have him. Please feel
free to call me if you would like me to elaborate on any of the information provided or if
there is any additional information you require.
Yours faithfully

"Jared is one of those unique people who is able to make anything he tries work. His
programming skills are second to none as he has taken our pipeline tools here at
Triggerfish to a new level that I am sure would work as well if not better than any in the
leading CG companies in the world. Jared would be an extremely valuable asset to any
company."

3. To Whom it may concern,
As compositing supervisor at triggerfish on the film "Zambezia", I had the pleasure with working with
Jared Glass for just under 2 years.
He is an extremely bright young man with a passion and talent for helping people solve problems.
He single handedly coded comp's entire digital pipeline, kept on evolving it and spent countless hours on
R&D developing many of the spectacular visual effects in Zambezia.
The remarkable thing is that Zambezia was his first project out of college.
I recommend Jared to move above and beyond his current position as this one is a keeper. For any
questions please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Dave Clark
