NATURE´S
FAVOURITE
DESIGNER
It’s natural, it’s alive and its beauty
is eternal. It is a material
that manages to create an
unprecedented atmosphere
of comfort and well-being,
providing that it is given
the care it deserves.
Wood should be handled
with an attention to detail,
a joy in its unique characteristics
and the knowledge of how it
can reach its full potential
through spirited craftsmanship.
Just like at Admonter, where
although we may have a few
design secrets up our sleeves,
first and foremost we have confidence
in the raw materials. We can now be
introduced anew as:
Nature’s favourite Designer.

HOW
MAGNIFICANT,THESE MOUNTAINS. THE
MEADOWS.THESE WOODLANDS!
Admont is to be found amidst the most natural surroundings,
lying at the foot of the Ennstal Alps, directly under the towering
Haller Mauern mountains, where the Enns river gushes wildly
through the Gesäuse gorge, in the national park of the same name.
Those who are lucky enough to know this region understand
immediately why a deep connection with nature lies at the very heart of Admonter.
08 / 09
WE GROW UP
SURROUNDED
BY WOOD.
Growing up in or around Admont makes it somewhat inevitable that
you become a bit of a nature-lover. The surrounding mountains and
forests quite simply begin to mould you. Of course, there are now
many people worldwide that are thrilled that we can live out our
enthusiasm for nature by channelling it into the creation of
highly-refined natural wood products for sophisticated interiors.
10 / 11
OUR DESIGNERS HAVE
A NATURAL TALENT.
To name but a few: Oak, Larch or Walnut.
This is because we fully trust in nature’s creative talents,
in her harmonious and unique grains and patterns,
in her wide spectrum of colours and in her talent
for creating great atmospheric effects.
12 / 13
OUR
DESIGN SECRET NO. 1:
LONG
WORKING HOURS.
A tree doesn’t grow any quicker when
you pull at it. We like to leave our trees
all the time they need to grow into strong
and powerful trunks with straight growth
and perfect density.
Only trees such as these will be processed into a true Admonter.
14 / 15
There has been a Benedictine Abbey in Admont
for almost 1000 years and in 1972
they founded the Admont Abbey wood-processing company (STIA),
the company behind the Admonter brand.
They continue to be the owners to this day,
sustained by rock-solid economic principles.
This exceptional stability is proven not only
by the people that work here but also by their products.

As far as quality is concerned –
we don’t make compromises.
Every last millimetre worth of our products is carefully
considered. Since living wood sometimes has irregular
or uneven features, we take care to offset this with
multi-layered structure and precise laying techniques.

OUR DESIGN
SECRET NO. 3:
GIVE THE WOOD
SPACE TO
BREATHE; CARE
FOR THE WOODEN
SURFACE
AS YOU WOULD
YOUR OWN SKIN.
Wood creates a great atmospheric environment through
absorbing and releasing humidity. For this reason, a naturally-oiled surface
makes even more sense in that the wood’s pores remain open
and the natural beauty is preserved. The characteristic Patina of the wood
has a better chance to shine. Naturally, tastes and preferences vary and
for this reason we also offer UV oiled and matt lacquered finishes.

The top layer.
Only the best timber is selected to serve
as the top layer of an Admonter wide plank floor.
Top layer for softwoods and hardwoods: approx. 3.6 mm.
A slight bevel.
This bevel intensifies the visual effect of every
single plank and emphasises the unique
wide plank character.
Installation tongue & groove
The transverse middle layer.
This reduces warping of the width
of the plank and stabilises the top layer.
The bottom layer.
Consists either of the same wood species
as the top layer or of softwood and thus
serves to balance the natural
forces of the timber.
APART FROM THEIR
BEAUTIFUL DESIGN,
ADMONTER WIDE PLANK
FLOORS ARE ALSO
CHARACTERIZED BY THEIR
3-LAYER CONSTRUCTION,
EASY INSTALLATION AND SIZE
OF PLANKS RANGING FROM
SMALL TO XXLONG.
Unsurpassed stability
With Admonter floors a 3-layer timber construction
prevents the natural warping of the wood.
Top and bottom layers with the same
thickness of approx. 3.6 mm keep the balance
of the natural forces of the wood. Furthermore,
the transverse middle layer stabilizes the plank across the width.
Available are the following choices:
3-layer construction with top and bottom layer
made from hardwood.
This offers the highest stability
with a total thickness of 15 mm.
3-layer construction with softwood backing.
High stability with a total thickness of 15 mm.
3-layer construction with softwood veneer.
Total thickness 13 mm.
2 -layer construction for full surface stick
down installation.
Due to its low installation height, this is ideal for renovations.
Total thickness 10 mm.
72 / 73
Installation lock-it
CHOICE OF
FORMATFLOORs are available in lengths ranging from 590 mm to 5000 mm
divided as follows:
A COMPLETE
RANGE OF
SOLUTIONS
small
Lengths ranging from 590 mm to 1200 mm.
Suited for herringbone patterns or small rooms with great effect.
classic
Classic lengths of Admonter planks range from 1850 mm to 2400 mm.
xxlong
The length of these planks are up to 5000 mm giving a special character to big rooms.
The extensive variety ranging from 100 to 325 mm
provides many design possibilities.
Narrow and broader planks are combined in order to create different effects.
74 / 75
Admonter floors are available in all standard and easy installation systems:
• Classic tongue & groove profile.
This system has been proven for decades and is the best solution for the installation of long
and wide planks in large format planks.
• Glue-less installation system: lock-it.
• 2-layer flooring for full surface stick down installation
of herringbone style patterns and small rooms. Available in 3 different sizes.
All Admonter wide plank floors are suited for floating and full surface stick down installation.
The only exception is the 2layer floor which has to be fully stuck down.
CHOICE OF SURFACE TEXTURES
sanded
For many years this has been a standard finish of wide plank wood floors.
A totally smooth surface is achieved by the uniform sanding of the wood.
cross
Intensive brushing along and across the board creates a unique pattern,
leaving this floor with an exceptionally lively character.
brushed
The soft parts of the wood are brushed out of the floorboard.
This creates a beautiful texture with a surface that is more durable.
alpin
Combining strong across brushing and a scraping of the wood creates a truly unique sensory experience.
scraped
Lengthwise scraping highlights the rich, organic texture within the wood grain.
In this way the natural beauty of the wood comes into its own.
antico
Unique ageing techniques like distressing, 3 dimensional brushing and strong bevelled edges give the planks
the beautiful characteristics of traditional hand finished floors with a visible texture and a very durable surface.
76 / 77
78 / 79
FINISHESAs a living natural material, wood is breathable. Wood has the great advantage
of being able to absorb moisture and to transpire. It has a balancing effect
on the room climate therefore the choice of the finish affects the property.
Criteria such as care & maintenance and wear capacity are dependent on
the nature of the finish. For the flooring range we offer the following finishes:
natural oiled
The natural oil finish keeps the pores of the wood open allowing the floor to breathe.
It has a regulatory effect on moisture, in this way ensuring a healthy room climate.
Through regular and proper care & maintenance the surface gets a natural
patina of extraordinary durability.
UV oiled
The UV oil consists of mostly sustainable constituents.
A UV oiled floor requires little effort for care & maintenance and is very durable.
matt lacquer
The application of matt lacquer will entirely seal the pores of the wood.
The matt lacquered finish is very durable and absolutely
uncomplicated in care & maintenance.

HERE,
THE SHORT CUT
IS FAR BETTER
IN THE LONG-TERM.
100 / 101
The abundance of dense forest in the Admonter region,
and in Austria in general, makes things especially easy -
the raw materials can often be found on our front door step.
Even when we require wood species that aren’t available so
close to home, we still take into consideration
the transportation routes…after all, reducing the distance
travelled is also good for our environment.

we choose to offer an ecological alternative –

THE BEAUTY
IS SO CLOSE:
www.admonter.atGOOD
TO KNOW
Admonter – a companion to be cherished!
Admonter is a natural material, and as such needs to be maintained and cared
for with respect over the years. Here are a few tips for long lasting
durability of the wood.
• The durability and wear resistance of any wooden floor is highly dependent on regular and
correct care & maintenance, which if carried out correctly, will add years to the service life
of your floor. You will find detailed information concerning installation and maintenance of
Admonter wide plank floors in our instructions which are enclosed in every 4th - 8th box or
online at www.admonter.at
• Natural colour changes: Natural wood products have a tendency of showing slight
changes in colour when exposed to intense sunlight. Especially during the first 3-6 months,
and then gradually over time, lighter timber will turn darker, while darker timber will become
lighter. We recommend using rugs only 6 months after the installation of the floor.
• Underfloor-heating: Admonter Natural Floors are ideally suited to underfloor heating, both
hot water or electrical heating systems. (The only exception being beech wood) For more
information, we recommend that you contact your competent flooring dealer.

Nature's Favourite Designer

  • 2. It’s natural, it’s alive and its beauty is eternal. It is a material that manages to create an unprecedented atmosphere of comfort and well-being, providing that it is given the care it deserves. Wood should be handled with an attention to detail, a joy in its unique characteristics and the knowledge of how it can reach its full potential through spirited craftsmanship. Just like at Admonter, where although we may have a few design secrets up our sleeves, first and foremost we have confidence in the raw materials. We can now be introduced anew as: Nature’s favourite Designer. SIMPLY WOOD.
  • 3. CONTAINS: 100 % JOY IN PURE, NATURAL WOOD 06 – 15 ADMONTER, NATURE´S FAVOURITE DESIGNER 16 – 87 FLOORS NATURAL WIDE PLANK WOOD FLOORS 88 – 105 STAIRS STAIRCASES MADE FROM WOOD 106 – 147 ELEMENTS NATURAL WOOD PANELS OURPROGRAM
  • 4. 06 / 07 HOW MAGNIFICANT,THESE MOUNTAINS. THE MEADOWS.THESE WOODLANDS! Admont is to be found amidst the most natural surroundings, lying at the foot of the Ennstal Alps, directly under the towering Haller Mauern mountains, where the Enns river gushes wildly through the Gesäuse gorge, in the national park of the same name. Those who are lucky enough to know this region understand immediately why a deep connection with nature lies at the very heart of Admonter.
  • 5. 08 / 09 WE GROW UP SURROUNDED BY WOOD. Growing up in or around Admont makes it somewhat inevitable that you become a bit of a nature-lover. The surrounding mountains and forests quite simply begin to mould you. Of course, there are now many people worldwide that are thrilled that we can live out our enthusiasm for nature by channelling it into the creation of highly-refined natural wood products for sophisticated interiors.
  • 6. 10 / 11 OUR DESIGNERS HAVE A NATURAL TALENT. To name but a few: Oak, Larch or Walnut. This is because we fully trust in nature’s creative talents, in her harmonious and unique grains and patterns, in her wide spectrum of colours and in her talent for creating great atmospheric effects.
  • 7. 12 / 13 OUR DESIGN SECRET NO. 1: LONG WORKING HOURS. A tree doesn’t grow any quicker when you pull at it. We like to leave our trees all the time they need to grow into strong and powerful trunks with straight growth and perfect density. Only trees such as these will be processed into a true Admonter.
  • 8. 14 / 15 There has been a Benedictine Abbey in Admont for almost 1000 years and in 1972 they founded the Admont Abbey wood-processing company (STIA), the company behind the Admonter brand. They continue to be the owners to this day, sustained by rock-solid economic principles. This exceptional stability is proven not only by the people that work here but also by their products. A brand of STIA Holzindustrie GmbH A LOCATION WITH MAXIMUM STABILITY.

  • 27. things halves don´t do We OUR DESIGN SECRET NO. 2: 52 / 53 by As far as quality is concerned – we don’t make compromises. Every last millimetre worth of our products is carefully considered. Since living wood sometimes has irregular or uneven features, we take care to offset this with multi-layered structure and precise laying techniques.

  • 32. OUR DESIGN SECRET NO. 3: GIVE THE WOOD SPACE TO BREATHE; CARE FOR THE WOODEN SURFACE AS YOU WOULD YOUR OWN SKIN. Wood creates a great atmospheric environment through absorbing and releasing humidity. For this reason, a naturally-oiled surface makes even more sense in that the wood’s pores remain open and the natural beauty is preserved. The characteristic Patina of the wood has a better chance to shine. Naturally, tastes and preferences vary and for this reason we also offer UV oiled and matt lacquered finishes. 62 / 63

  • 37. The top layer. Only the best timber is selected to serve as the top layer of an Admonter wide plank floor. Top layer for softwoods and hardwoods: approx. 3.6 mm. A slight bevel. This bevel intensifies the visual effect of every single plank and emphasises the unique wide plank character. Installation tongue & groove The transverse middle layer. This reduces warping of the width of the plank and stabilises the top layer. The bottom layer. Consists either of the same wood species as the top layer or of softwood and thus serves to balance the natural forces of the timber. APART FROM THEIR BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, ADMONTER WIDE PLANK FLOORS ARE ALSO CHARACTERIZED BY THEIR 3-LAYER CONSTRUCTION, EASY INSTALLATION AND SIZE OF PLANKS RANGING FROM SMALL TO XXLONG. Unsurpassed stability With Admonter floors a 3-layer timber construction prevents the natural warping of the wood. Top and bottom layers with the same thickness of approx. 3.6 mm keep the balance of the natural forces of the wood. Furthermore, the transverse middle layer stabilizes the plank across the width. Available are the following choices: 3-layer construction with top and bottom layer made from hardwood. This offers the highest stability with a total thickness of 15 mm. 3-layer construction with softwood backing. High stability with a total thickness of 15 mm. 3-layer construction with softwood veneer. Total thickness 13 mm. 2 -layer construction for full surface stick down installation. Due to its low installation height, this is ideal for renovations. Total thickness 10 mm. 72 / 73 Installation lock-it
  • 38. CHOICE OF FORMATFLOORs are available in lengths ranging from 590 mm to 5000 mm divided as follows: A COMPLETE RANGE OF SOLUTIONS small Lengths ranging from 590 mm to 1200 mm. Suited for herringbone patterns or small rooms with great effect. classic Classic lengths of Admonter planks range from 1850 mm to 2400 mm. xxlong The length of these planks are up to 5000 mm giving a special character to big rooms. The extensive variety ranging from 100 to 325 mm provides many design possibilities. Narrow and broader planks are combined in order to create different effects. 74 / 75 Admonter floors are available in all standard and easy installation systems: • Classic tongue & groove profile. This system has been proven for decades and is the best solution for the installation of long and wide planks in large format planks. • Glue-less installation system: lock-it. • 2-layer flooring for full surface stick down installation of herringbone style patterns and small rooms. Available in 3 different sizes. All Admonter wide plank floors are suited for floating and full surface stick down installation. The only exception is the 2layer floor which has to be fully stuck down.
  • 39. CHOICE OF SURFACE TEXTURES sanded For many years this has been a standard finish of wide plank wood floors. A totally smooth surface is achieved by the uniform sanding of the wood. cross Intensive brushing along and across the board creates a unique pattern, leaving this floor with an exceptionally lively character. brushed The soft parts of the wood are brushed out of the floorboard. This creates a beautiful texture with a surface that is more durable. alpin Combining strong across brushing and a scraping of the wood creates a truly unique sensory experience. scraped Lengthwise scraping highlights the rich, organic texture within the wood grain. In this way the natural beauty of the wood comes into its own. antico Unique ageing techniques like distressing, 3 dimensional brushing and strong bevelled edges give the planks the beautiful characteristics of traditional hand finished floors with a visible texture and a very durable surface. 76 / 77
  • 40. 78 / 79 FINISHESAs a living natural material, wood is breathable. Wood has the great advantage of being able to absorb moisture and to transpire. It has a balancing effect on the room climate therefore the choice of the finish affects the property. Criteria such as care & maintenance and wear capacity are dependent on the nature of the finish. For the flooring range we offer the following finishes: natural oiled The natural oil finish keeps the pores of the wood open allowing the floor to breathe. It has a regulatory effect on moisture, in this way ensuring a healthy room climate. Through regular and proper care & maintenance the surface gets a natural patina of extraordinary durability. UV oiled The UV oil consists of mostly sustainable constituents. A UV oiled floor requires little effort for care & maintenance and is very durable. matt lacquer The application of matt lacquer will entirely seal the pores of the wood. The matt lacquered finish is very durable and absolutely uncomplicated in care & maintenance.

  • 51. HERE, THE SHORT CUT IS FAR BETTER IN THE LONG-TERM. 100 / 101 The abundance of dense forest in the Admonter region, and in Austria in general, makes things especially easy - the raw materials can often be found on our front door step. Even when we require wood species that aren’t available so close to home, we still take into consideration the transportation routes…after all, reducing the distance travelled is also good for our environment.

  • 77. THE BEAUTY IS SO CLOSE: www.admonter.atGOOD TO KNOW Admonter – a companion to be cherished! Admonter is a natural material, and as such needs to be maintained and cared for with respect over the years. Here are a few tips for long lasting durability of the wood. • The durability and wear resistance of any wooden floor is highly dependent on regular and correct care & maintenance, which if carried out correctly, will add years to the service life of your floor. You will find detailed information concerning installation and maintenance of Admonter wide plank floors in our instructions which are enclosed in every 4th - 8th box or online at www.admonter.at • Natural colour changes: Natural wood products have a tendency of showing slight changes in colour when exposed to intense sunlight. Especially during the first 3-6 months, and then gradually over time, lighter timber will turn darker, while darker timber will become lighter. We recommend using rugs only 6 months after the installation of the floor. • Underfloor-heating: Admonter Natural Floors are ideally suited to underfloor heating, both hot water or electrical heating systems. (The only exception being beech wood) For more information, we recommend that you contact your competent flooring dealer. 152 / 153
