I outline below my day to day tasks within my role:
• The visual inspection of all parts prior to fitting.
• To fit and assemble all equipment to manufacturer’s instructions by the use of visual aids.
• To use various hand tools, power tools and materials when removing parts to be serviced and cleaned.
• To sub-assemble all parts correctly to visual aid and to surgeon’s requirements.
• To pass on to Theatre departments within 3 hours of receiving.
• To prioritise work by using fast track method.
• Fitting of new parts where required.
• Completion of all inspection sheets and surgical instrument lists on which is highlighted any points with
equipment and report to supervisor.
• Once all tasks completed the equipment is ready to be cleaned and sterilised and sent to relevant Theatres.

Engine Fitter / Rectifier - this involved:
Feb 2003 - Dec 2008
Jaguar Cars
• Total inspection of the engine to ensure build quality and standards are met
• Assembly of the engine to customer requirements
• Carry out final inspection with build card
• Training and team development in building techniques to minimise waste and to increase efficiency and quality.
Fusion Welder / Assembler / Inspection - this involved:
• Preparation and inspection of joints to be welded and once welded checking for integrity and undercut, the
form, length and depth of weld
• Profiling panels
• First off inspection which included non-destructive testing i.e. chisel checking spots etc
• CO2 mig welding of aluminium joints
French Polisher - this involved:
• Preparation and inspection of wooden veneered components
• Visual inspection of components
• Hand-flatting using various grades of paper from 800 g grit to 200 g grit
• Check lacquer paint application for defects and runs and repair where necessary
• Polish components with various cutting pastes
• Final inspection of component to customer requirements
Store man - this involved:
• Organising relevant stores for track side
• Loading on and loading off of wagons
• Store inventory
• Delivery of stores to track side when required to ensure no over stock
Area Plant Maintenance - this were carried out before the start of the shift to ensure efficient start up:
• In body and white to carry out checks on spot welding; mig welding plants; tools etc
• Change tips where necessary
• Check mig torch
• Air tools and jigs

• Inspection of welded body & white components to company’s requirements
• Checking welds with a chisel test and repairing where required
• Checking the space of spot welds and chisel test
• Checking for weld integrity, shape and size of welds / spot welds
• Undercutting, depth and the uniform of CO2 welds
Body Shop Leading Hand - this involved:
• Managing 10 - 15 men in the boneyard
• Various welding training to ensure operators kept aware of company standards
• Organising and ordering stock for stores e.g. mig wires, tips, gloves on a daily basis
• Organising time slots to introduce repaired vehicles back into system
• 100% check of one in ten of spot and CO2 welds using NDT checks
Paint Shop this involves:
• Departmental pre-inspection delivery of cars to trim shop, which included checking of paint for debris, runs, nibs
and sealer defects.
• Cut and polish out any paint defects.
• Application of sealer and the preparation of vehicle prior to painting.
• Final line inspection which included total check of body and paint, trim that all fits where correct to customer
build. Once all checks completed this was then passed to the customer acceptance line then sent to the
dealership.
