$13.5 million 120-bed physical and occupational rehabilitation facility. Fully
involved with the complete project bidding process and subsequent value
engineering as required to bring project within budget. Project currently in
progress with completion in Winter 2016.
Carilion Clinic Roanoke Memorial Hospital – Roanoke Virginia
$1.3 million renovation of existing medical office space for dialysis procedures
facility. Working closely with Owner and A/E design team, project completed
on schedule and within budget projections.
Barton Malow Company
University of Virginia – Charlottesville, VA
$65 million Carter – Harrison Research Building. New research and teaching
facility with vivarium, laboratory and office areas. Conducted pre-installation
and coordination meetings for specialty construction and equipment systems.
Provided schedule updates and monthly applications for payment to Owner.
Project received recognition for exceeding cash flow and monthly billing
projections within regional office.
Lynchburg General Hospital - Lynchburg, VA
$45 million Bed Tower Addition. Patient care expansion with new dietary,
physical plant addition and site work to support the new and existing facilities.
Provided preconstruction services working closely with Owner and A/E design
team in developing SD/DD budgets. Developed coordinated bid package scopes
of work for subcontractor/vendor pricing with value engineering as needed to
meet overall construction budget with a minimal use of construction
contingency funds during project. Construction schedules and budgets were
accurately and closely maintained. Project received recognition for exceeding
cash flow and monthly billing projections within regional office.
University of Maryland- Baltimore, MD
$105 million new Dental School Building. Multipurpose facility including
teaching, clinical, research laboratory and vivarium areas. Assigned to project
for 90 day period to assist current project staff with lengthy backlog of change
management issues resulting from numerous RFI issues and Owner requested
changes, most of which had significant impact on structural, exterior skin, and
MEP trades. Aggressively obtained subcontractor/vendor costs and submitted
change order requests totaling nearly $ 3.5 million that were approved by
Owner and A/E during this period.
Skanska USA Building, Inc.
Danville Regional Medical Center- Danville, VA
$11 million Open Heart Surgery Center. Two open heart surgery rooms with
four adjoining general OR suites with support facilities. Successfully completed
and closed out project which as a joint venture with DRMC and Duke University
Hospital.
University of Virginia- Charlottesville, VA
$33.5 million Biomedical Engineering & Medical Science Building. New research
facility with vivarium and laboratory areas. Conducted project closeout and
commissioning conferences involving key subcontractors / vendors with
participation of Owner, A/E team including commissioning agents and other
state inspection agencies. Project was recognized by Owner as having the most
efficient and seamless commissioning process of any other Capital Outlay
project on campus.
Princeton Community Hospital- Princeton, WVA
$18.5 million addition and renovation construction of new O.R. Suite and
women’s center. Expansion & renovation of Emergency Department.
Promoted to Project Manager. Provided preconstruction services working
closely with Owner and A/E design team in developing SD/DD budgets.
Developed coordinated bid package scopes of work for subcontractor/vendor
pricing with value engineering as needed to meet overall construction budget
with a minimal use of construction contingency funds during project.

Danville Regional Medical Center - Danville, VA
$22.6 million addition and renovation to existing hospital including new bed
tower addition and expansion of Emergency Department, Radiology, and lab
spaces. Hired as Project Engineer to process shop drawings / submittals, submit
RFI’s to A/E for resolution, and prepare change order requests as needed.
Duties further expanded to the preparation of monthly applications for
payment to the Owner and to oversee successful closeout of project.
Recognized as “Best Project of Year” for Skanska regional office overseeing
project.
Avis Construction, Inc.
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University - Blacksburg, VA
$8 million, Phase IV, addition to the College of Veterinary Medicine. Class room
with teaching laboratory facilities and equipment including meeting rooms,
faculty offices and construction of infectious disease unit, large and small
animal holding and laboratory. While being the first Bureau of Capital Outlay
Management project to be given assignment to, successfully maintained
construction schedule and commissioning process to complete project
substantially within contract dates for completion.
Giles Memorial Hospital - Pearisburg, VA
$1.2 million renovation and addition. Renovation and expansion of Emergency
Department and Radiology. Construction schedules and budgets were
effectively maintained with project having minimal closeout and warranty
issues.
