WHERE I AM NOW ● Public Relations postgraduate student at Humber College ● Volunteering at events to upgrade my resume ● Involved in the student chapters of CPRS and IABC ● Gaining a head start in the field by having an online presence and engaging in social media ● Graduate August 2010, start internship Sept 2010

Key Messages FINAL DESTINATION: ● Have an online presence that reflects my personal brand, the Manitoba Babe ● Being a “tour guide” for the hot restaurants/nightlife in Toronto with a “Toba” twist ● Working for a company that can utilize my knowledge and outlook on Toronto from a prairie girl perspective ● Spread my politeness and cheerful spirit through Toronto

4. Objectives HOW TO GET THERE: ● Create a personal brand devoted to travel and tourism ● Develop an active presence online and position myself in the field of Public Relations ● Continue writing and updating my blog to add to the ongoing online dialogue

Strategy WHERE TO GO FROM HERE: ● Build brand equity by engaging and being visible on the web in order to sustain an online presence ● Focus on networking and building a reputation within the communication world ● Focus on obtaining a high profile internship to gain valuable experience in in the field of communication

Tactics HOW TO GET THERE: ● Becoming involved in various Public Relations groups including CPRS, IABC ● Read at least two blogs of professional PR practioners each week ● Continue to get feedback and advice from my mentor on my blog and connectivity ● Volunteer twice a month ● Create a portfolio of my work ● Create a personal video for my blog highlighting my assets ● Have business cards made to hand out at networking events
